so i was changing my hatch struts today and the female threading inside the hatch fell out and back inside the hatch down the hole where the threading should be. I heard it roll down and tried to roll it back and catch it with something but them it dissapeared. How did this happen and how do i fix it

I'm not sure I fully understand, but maybe you could try using a powerful magnet to bring it back up?

Back off a little and retake the photo. I need to see the location better and I'll go check mine out.

the nut inside of the hatch came undone. you are gonna have to have a welder weld a new nut inside the hole.

you can get it out by taking off the cover that is over the wiper area... then closing the hatch so it rolls down there...

Or.. you can use put a magnet up there and close the hatch and try to grab it.

Rivnuts might not be a good solution because of how shallow they are.

Either way, someone's gonna have to cut out a square, weld a nut to it and weld in the patch to fix that. probably going to have to be a Tig, also due to the space / metal constraints... Hope you're area has a good fabricator around

Might be eaiser (and cheaper) just get a new hatch? Depends on your area...

Hope that helps.
