looking to spend 2-3 months in usa from may to sept or so... and do some drifting there.

Because your post suggests that you're looking to buy a car, that's why.
Going rates can be found in the Cars For Sale section.
Your question on registration rates is more than likely Google-able, but being specific to a particular region, is likely better placed in that region's area.
