Anyone ever run a high mount setup with stock twins/intake setup?

Have any of you used any reflective/protective material on the firewall of your projects? I was interested in installing some of this material on the firewall to prevent excess heat from going through the firewall.

Open to suggestions and ideas.

BTW, I wasnt able to take pix but the mounts worked perfectly during mock up. I will be dropping the setup back in after I come back from vacation and finish up a few work projects. I will take pictures at that point.

IF you change your oil pan you don't need to change your sway bar.

what do u mean "if you change your oil pan"? unless you cut the firewall the motor won't work with a rear sump setup

Yeah, I'm not aware of any other oil pan options. You either have rear sump, front sump, or front sump with the IS300 pan which has a recess in the back of the pan. Curious to what pan you speak of as well.

The word around here in NZ is that an A31 Cefiro sway bar clears the 1J.
I figure this is because the A31 shares many suspension components with the S13 chassis but has to make clearances for the RB series motors.

I'm almost 100% certain on this; as memory serves I've seen it in a build thread, I'm picking mine up next week so can give you pictorial evidence if you like lol.

This^. Also on a side note i got my motor running last weekend, radiator is coming in tomorrow so i will post a short vid for you guys. Also i did my own wiring for those of you who would like to know and it wasnt too bad at all!

Swap in a low temp thermo if you haven't already! It helps out tremendously.

Flick's definitely right about 2j s13's running real hot. Mine was running around 210 on stock thermo. Mishimoto dropped it to around 160. I need to get a hood vent for sure though lol.

Also, installed some cs carbon hood dampers since I was tired of carrying my hood prop in my car (it was getting caught on the passenger side headlight since I had to notch my core support for fan clearance)

They were cheap and the install was a breeze. We'll see how they hold up in the winter time.

I'm planning on putting that gold reflective stuff on the firewall and front of the tunnel.
I'm also planning on putting dynamat on the inside of the firewall and front floorboards.

theres quite a few out there you got driftmotion (Greddy rep), DOC, and of course greddy. Theres also others just look around. I saw a thread where someone had one on a s13 idk which one it was but he had to beat his brake lines back a little to make it fit.

I have an s14 kouki with a 2jzgte usdm swap. I'm having an issue with the cooling system; the coolant temp begins to rise ONLY when I turn the on the A/C while cruising. The temp does rise a tiny bit when I get on it but never overheats. It has a front mount, condenser with a pusher fan, koyo radiator, dual flex-a-lite puller fans, regular coolant, and a thermostat that's close to the stock spec.

I already did my research and came to a conclusion that I need a TRD or MISHIMOTO thermostat but I don't know which temp spec to get. Considering San Antonio, TX where the average temp is 90F during the day time. will be a wise decision to go with a 140F or 160F?

that article is retarded. if you run a lower thermostat then the water stays at a lower temp so when you experience a load or turning on the ac the system is at a lower starting temp to begin with meaning the cooling system doesn't have to work so hard to maintain a certain temp. cooler temps are easier to maintain because it keeps heat overall to a minimum

Anybody using, or considered using stock usdm clutch fan? I know there are room issues, but I was considering moving my radiator forward (notching out the support) and then making a customer shroud.
