On November 29th, 2012 my wife gave birth to our third boy. Our lives were forever changed when we learned he had Downs Syndrome. Thanks to our son we have become so much more aware of something we previously knew nothing about. By putting on this event I am hoping to bring awareness to the community and raise money for the NDSS (National Down Syndrome Society).

We would like to introduce you to the first Annual "South Sound Summer Jam". With the success of our previous events hosted in Olympia, WA (Nissan & Mitsubishi Meet & Show) over the last three years we are ready to take the next step. For 2013 we are hosting the event at South Sound Speedway in Rochester, WA. With the change of venue we are able to introduce you to a much larger facility, along with the addition of a race track. These additions have allowed us to open our car show all makes and models. The addition of a race track has allowed us to create the South Sound's first drift competition. The South Sound Speedstars Invitational will be a friendly team tandem drift competition involving some of the best drivers in the northwest.

I am willing to go weather it's ganna be rain or not. I need get some practice on wet pavement anyways. I sucked during Grassroots with wet condition.

You only need a single layer fire suite. You can buy one for $100-150. Also, are you caged?

I wanted to get the suit that meets Pro-Am standard since I am buying one anyways.

Yes, you need a cage to drive at South Sound. Essentially - at our event we will require EVD Grassroots Tandem Required Equipment. Dio ended up getting an Autopower and having the door bars added. I cant remember what South Sound Speedway's rules state for their open nights where you run solo, but you do need a cage of sorts.

Right. You cannot tandem on test and tune nights though. The insurance cost is dramatically different when you put two cars on the track at the same time.

Judges are still in the works - we have a list of potentials we are going to nail down and see how they feel about it. Im assuming you are talking about the drift competition. The same goes for the car show though. The major portion of the car show will be 'people's choice' style judging. Then the best in show 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will be judged by real judges.

We have been receiving a lot of raffle items from various companies and thought I would share some of this awesome stuff with you all.



Grip Royal made up this custom 212121 Steering Wheel for us to raffle. 212121 is something that I came up with and run on my personal time to help raise money for South Puget Sound Up with Down Syndrome. Since the raffle money from this event is benefiting their organization, I figured this would be a cool way to tie the two together. Im really excited to get this wheel in later this week to see it in person. ETS (Extreme Turbo Systems) sent us this box of intercoolers. Direct fitment is for 2 different Subarus (top mount setup) and 1 is for a Lancer Evolution. Regardless, these would be cool for anyone to win that has the ability to fabricate parts.





Radium Engineering sent us a package of goodies. The raffle package will include a Radium Engineering Fuel Surge Tank (custom green), Single Oil Catch Can, and Fuel Pressure Regulator.
