RB Nissan 240sx AWD rb26 R13 Build from Canada

Hi my name is Serghei born and raised in Russian and then moved to Canada, but enough about me. It all started off with my first car.. well an s13 loved it ! and ever sins i been going back and forth with s13's and well.. pretty much anything jdm but you know what they say about s13's, you cant live with them and cant live without them lol. so instead of bouncing around different 240's i settled on finding a clean one and start a build.

here is what i found

found exactly what i wanted. clean, 1992 240sx bla, bla, bla.
so didn't waist any time ripping the engine out. called up a few buddys, got some beers and a hoist and the way she goes

well we were at it another buddy of mine called me and said there was a cage that i was looking for a while on for sale so i had to go grab it
10 point cusco/safty 21 cage

engine out

tranny out

engine bay after

other project that i was working on my (DD)

got a toy to keep me busy GSX-R600

finally put there in the garage

pulled the harness out, cleaned the bay a bit and took out the subframe

pulled the subframe out

buddy of mine decided to part out his GTR so i wend and scooped a few parts up. 2 tial wastegates, Rb26 TRUST T4 manifold, RB26 NISMO twin plate clutch, mishimoto radiator with mishimoto shroud and 2 flex-a-lite fans

cleaned her up a bit

I hope you finish this project and don't quit half way. Seems to be a common trend with AWD Rb26 swap projects.

Biggest update as of yet. Picked up my engine/drive train. 92 GTR. runs and drive nicely. launches like a beast ! never really driven a GTR but dam does it ever slap you back in the seat from 0-60. will be pulling the engine as soon as i get some space !

Now i know what your all are thinking, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ! why would you rip apart a good running GTR to use the engine for the 240sx. Why not just slap a big single, cams, injectors in the GTR and call it a day... well at the end it will be just another fast GTR. We have alot of them in the city. nothing special but an AWD rb26 240 is a different story. And instead of me hunting for every part i need its easier to just get the hole car.

also picked up these units

What's with everybody trying to be "different"...?

Gutting up a R-Chassis to build a S-Chassis? The reason why you don't see too many people doing that is because it's silly and just plain stupid.

Now if it was a R33 (lol), I'd understand but a 32 is such a great car. Anywho, since you care so much to be "different", why not keep both cars and build both? Go with the Zilvia Kouki 180SX starter pack and build a street R32 or vice versa. No Zilvia/Internet dweeb in Canada or in North America has got the best of both worlds and you'll definitely get more penises and win internet fame.

Unless that R32 is rusted the fuck out, I would advise against gutting it out and ultimately turning it into a parts car. Build both.

Yeah, this seems pointless. You have access to GT-Rs. Just drive a GT-R. If you were in the U.S. I would say go for it, but tearing apart a perfectly fine R32 to swap everything into a 240.....not my car, but definitely not what I would do.

It's also MUCH harder to get RHD insurance now in Ontario (Canada). I can attest to that with my 180, fortunately/unfortunately I kept it insured the entire 2 years I was building it on a fire and theft policy.

It was the only way for me to guarantee I was going to be able to drive it legally on the road...insurance wise anyways.

So his plan for using the RB drivetrain in the 240 MAY be caused by the ever so lowering right hand drive vehicles in our country...but who knows. I don't know the guy.

Cool

loving the comments ! its hard for you guys to understand sins as far as i know its hard to get a GTR in US, not the same in Canada (at least where im at). I don't like RHD i have owned lots of them, its not my thing. i like s13's more then GTRs there harder to find clean here. Insurance is the same price RHD vs LHD.

I am not doing this just because i want to be different, im doing it because its what i wanted to do. its funny how rb26 swaps in an s13 is fine yet this is not.

not ruining anything here. im not cutting up the shell. the GTR will still live after this. the shell will go to my buddy witch he will bring it back to life.

and to make some of you even more mad hehe the GTR only has 58k kms, perfect compression, N1 goodies with coilovers and lots of other fun stuff.

stay tuned for updates

Alberta rates are not nearly what they are here. Insuring a RHD between Hamilton-Oshawa-Barrie is 3x higher than anywhere in the country, as you know. Sadly, I have friends that have had full coverage on RHDs under their own name for less than $1800 a year, since 17 years old.

But I've gotta ask, what did the GTR cost you? There are shells selling for probably less than what you got that for out here
