I've been told you need to leave that and remove the auto ecu which is in same location when going to 5 speed. If installing the pedal I just removed the black box and then installed it again once pedal was in.

So, ah, whats it um... do. I put an LS into the car with it's own computer etc... so I was thinking of removing it without looking in the FSM at what it does. Which is often a mistake.
but im so lazy and it weighs like 7 ounces , so... thanks guys and good to see you agamem, again agamem |

Going off memory,
There are two types. Base models have a black plastic unit and the SE has a silver metal unit. They control power locks, theft system, defogger warning chimes. They don’t affect engine control except maybe the rear defogger. |

sigh, I guess I had better keep it for the door locks. that sounds important. Oh well heres to having 1/84172 less of a horsepower due to the weight of that thing ;D hey maybe I should relocate it to the back! (not srs) though Im on a relocating spree these days |
