S14 W/R33 GTR Rear Brakes

I picked up an S14 that has a R33 GTR rear brake setup (Backing Plate/Ebrake Assembly/Bearing/Hub) etc swapped to a S14 knuckle.

I'm wondering if the R33 GTR 5 lug hub/spline setup is the same as the TT Z32 in that it cannot be used on an S-chassis. When stripping the rear end out of this S14 I found both half shafts were cut & re-welded. So I'm thinking to use the R33 hub & bearing he had a driveshaft shop modify the half shafts & then re-balance them with the proper GTR R33 spline end.

I would just get S14 5-lug hubs and axles.

It's looking like that. Originally I was hoping to justreplace the half shafts as S13 or S14 they are the same. Unfortunately I do not have one off a car to measure. And I'd also have the get the correct bearing due to the R33 ebrake setup as those & Z32 TT bearings look like this... I'm already considering swapping the brembo setup for Z32's to make sourcing rotors/pads easier.

What I'm talking about thou... 1.300'' - 34 Spline if I counted correctly. And I'm pretty sure S13/S14 are 29 spline.

I marked the spline & recounted for a proper #... 32! Same as the TT Z32. So my assumption was correct in that the previous owner Frankensteined the shafts.

So I have no choice but to ditch the hubs as they are either TT Z32 or R33 GTR.

You don't have to keep the GT-R hub. I cut that tab off and just used it as a spacer. Or find the thicker anchor block. Or I've read that an axle washer is thick enough. Perhaps a base Skyline or N/A Z32 hub would work too: 240SX spline count, 5-lug, and has the tab.

You might even be able to press a 240SX hub flange into the GT-R wheel bearing and housing.

You can get N/A Z32 bearings with or without the tab. I'm hoping the tab spec is the same as the TT bearings. So I can get new bearings, hubs & shafts without cutting, shimming or adding anything etc.

I guess that's because of the two different anchor blocks: the thicker one doesn't need the tab. It just sits right on the backing plate.

And I do think the tab spec is the same. All of the rear drum ebrake stuff is the same between models the different models of Skyline and Z32. Even J30 is pretty much the same, it just has a different ebrake cable and shoe lever.

you can use non tabbed hubs, and the anchor bolts that require the tabs, by using these
