Pretty self explanatory. Don't have to needlessly haul ass, but it is a nice road for a weekend cruise. Near the top there's a lookout where we could stop and get somethin to eat. Any takers?

Yah we can set it up for the weekend. And if you're on the otherside, could always meet at the lookout. Just wanted to see some more interest generated, but.

For those of you who don't know, Ortega Highway is a long road that goes through a mountain, has lots of corners and is generally a fun road to go for a cruise on.

Hopefully once we get more interest we can set up a date and go for a cruise. Just something to do once in awhile aside from the usual meets.

So 5 people including myself. I can grab a couple of friends as well. Let's shoot for next weekend. Saturday morning at 9 am? Are the majority of people coming from the I-5? Because there's a plaza we could all get together at. The one with O'Reilly's in it. It's located at

31863 Del Obispo St, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675

I'm not exactly from the area, but maybe someone can chime in about a good place to get something to eat with parking to accomodate.

im down lets do this. I'm on obispo side, im 5mins from ortega san juan side as far as accesible places to eat theres a pizza place, and theres a dennys right off the 5 freeway.

I drive it every day to get to San Onofre. In fact I just remember I saw a red hatch at the lil snack shop overlooking Elsinore on Monday about 9:30pm ish...

Is this going to actually happen? My girls would be down for a joy ride with Pops in the '97 and if the vert wasn't so fugly right now the wifey might be convinced to tag along too.

Yah wanted to set it up for last weekend, but forums went down. Also I tried to google maps that o reily addy and it didnt take me there. Can someone with more knowledge of the area set up a good meet spot near the 5 and see if we cant shoot for this weekend, sunday good day for a mornin cruise.

Also what's a good place for lunch on the lake elisnore side?

2nd light off of the 5 is about the only spot... it's a big shopping center. I think ball park pizza, Golden Spoon, Bravo burgers is in there if you want an address.
