What intake pipe to use with gt2871/z32 maf?

Getting everything ready to drop a gr2871 and z32 maf into my sr. What intake pipe does everyone use? I’d prefer to use something that doesn’t cost as much as a ridiculously price apexi power intake. Does the apexi even have the port for the PCV hose? I was going to go with the pbm intake pipe but it didn’t have the port for the crankcase vent hose either.

Preferably something I can purchase to drop in vs getting one fabricated/welded. Any suggestions or pictures of your own setup?

greddy piece is standard but I always make one to set my car apart from everyone else. Be sure to include PCV hose port on it if you want it to be taken seriously.

I made my own out of a 3 inch diameter stainless steel tube and bought a good quality 45 degree coupler

I have the Apexi "induction kit" for S14/15. It has the inlets for both the recirc tube and wastegate solenoid. The PVC hose connects to the elbow on the turbo inlet. It also tapers down to the stock turbo inlet pipe diameter.
So if your 2871 has the SR housing, it'll work. If it's the version with a 3" opening, then look at a different option.

That looks really nice, but do you have your ps pump removed or relocated somehow? Or am I just blind

My car didn't have power steering so I suppose my intake was simpler than most to make.

Easiest and best fitting is to use the s14 or s15 sr inlet. It has the valve cover vent tube built in.
Then 45 deg coupler that goes from the turbo inlet size 2.25 (I think)to 3". Then abou 6-8" straight 3" pipe to your z32 mafs.
Look at the pbm website for pics of their intake.
There are a few different ways to do it.....

Which version 2871r do you have?
Like the pic above?
I've always bought the s14/s15 replacement style. It's physically the same on the outside as the t28

I have been dealing with this issue... good luck with finding a proper setup. I don’t know if you’re planning on recirculating or if you are running a catch can, but if you want a bolt on option you are really down to 3/4 options depending on how you want to look at it..
GReddy Kits:
-S13sr part number 11920200 this kit is for use w/ s14/15 turbo (you can use this with gt2871r) and z32 maf. This kit has turbo inlets that allow you to bolt on s13 ic piping!!
-s14sr part number 11920201 this kit is for sue if you have a s14/s15 sr. It is the same as the kit above, but with no turbo inlet pipes.
APEXi suction tube, is like $80 more and you still have to buy a maf adapter, because it’s for s14sr w/ map sensor so there’s another $50
I bought the last greddy s13 suction kit available in the county last week. The y are on backorder for both s13 and s14/15 for 2 months and I believe the apex suction tune is on backorder for another few weeks. You can however get the pbm intake pipe kit that allows you to run a elbow fitting to a 3” straight pipe (with no recirculating or vacuum port) for $70 but you would have to still buy a maf adapter and filter. You would also have to have ports welded in place if you wanted those features out of your intake. Isr also makes a kit for like a buck ninety that has no provision for bov or vac port but has maf adapter and filter. Hope this helps.

You’ll have to modify your inlets to run s13 hotpipe if I’m correct unless you get the greddy s13 kit as well, because they come modified for you. It’s the only true bolt on solution for our setup I believe.

From everywhere I’ve looked, I am sitting in about the same exact body as what you’ve come up with Driftaholic... fortunately, the gt2871 I bought came with the Greddy outlet, so I’m good on using my t25 sr hotpipe, without having to deal with repositioning.

All I need now is the proper oil drain tube and an intake pipe solution.. I have the .64 version and I also think I have the turbo inlet pipe with the t25 positioning as well.

Neither the S13 or S14 compressor inlet pipe on a GT28R compressor housing (what your GT2871R has) will line up with a stock-style S13 intake. You can either cut, re-clock and weld, or buy clocking plates.

I chose the latter. The DIF ones from FRSport are quite nice with o-rings.

For the oil drain, I ordered an Isr unit. The drain tube is part #IS-T28Drain. I then have a OEM S15 rubber hose part #: 15198-69F00 connected to that, going to the fitting on the block. Granted, this is all sitting in my living room at the time being, but fitting/installation is happening today, weather permitting.

Btw, it you do already have the GReddy inlets for your turbo, (you will know because they say GReddy on them) or you have modified oem units, I ran into a guy on Facebook selling the greddy tube for like $60/70 shipped. It’s a little beat up and doesn’t come with filter or maf adapter, but you can still purchase both of those parts new from GReddy and still have an intake without waiting til mid June.

It looks like you have a greddy inlet and a modified inlet so that should work. Let me see if dude still has it.

I couldn’t find buddy with the greddy tube for sale. I did get mine in yesterday though and it is really nice. Everything is cast aluminum. The inlet pipe and the intake tube are polished and the intake inlet is left rough cast. Comes with everything needed including a new maf pigtail. Definitely recommend this kit if you can find it.
