My addiction. This is how I get high.

Hi everyone, my name is Joe. I’m 30, I’ve been welding since I was 13 and turning wrench since I can remember. I’ve been a member for a while, however this is my first build thread. After religiously following your guys’ sick ass build threads for a while now, I am inspired to start my very own. This 240 is number 4 of 5 I have owned. This one I have had the longest, about 8-9 yrs. The SOHC developed a knock so I rebuilt it. Bullitproofed it. Crower rods, +.030 arias pistons, knife edged and polished crank, nismo cam, oversized valves, port and polished head and intake, bigger throttle body, jet ecu reflash. I beat the shit outta her everyday for over a year. It never once gave me a problem.

Then one day I came across a RB25 for damn near nothing. I sold my tank to fund my RB build. Car sat for a while, I eventually ended up trading the motor for this 93’ vert.

A while later my cousin gave me this DOHC that I put together for him. That and all the rear megan control arms. All from his s13 project that fell through. Big props to him. I rode it like this for about a year till one day on the way home from school I put a hole the size of my fist on the side of the block. The con rod jumped out and sat on the cross member. Oil pump failure.

I ended up trading the vert back to the guy for my old RB. Then traded that to a guy for a blacktop SR with a few extras. Now that brings us to my current setup. I put the motor together about 2 1/2 yrs ago. I'm runing 14psi all day. Clark Turner tuned my shit. He is the man. I'm runing a Calum ecu.

And I drove that set up until a couple months ago. I decided to drop the intercooler as much as I could for better cooling.

dude thats pretty cool what you did with the intercooler... were you going for a low key feel instead of keeping it all mounted in the front?

you should get rims to match that piping xD

I hear from some people running PBM HMICs that they get a lot heatsoke.

I'm guessing that's why you moved the intercooler down lower, was there any noticeable difference after relocating it?

I am going for that "low key" look. I dont like causing to much unwanted attention. And yea, it would get hot. When it was up high it would only get air flowing through the bottom 2in of the intercooler. Now more than 3/4 ofn it gets air. It stays cool to the touch.

This is how it was sitting a few weeks ago. My trusty kyb gr2/ sprint spring setup finally gave. The rear have been blown for a while apparently. Ball joints were all shot. Front wheel bearings are whining. Fuck. Picked up moog ball joints.

out with the old
all this is now for sale

I finally had an excuse to undercoat the wheel wells.

I cleaned up all my old shit that I'm gonna keep, pressed in my moog balls in the rears. then I paired them up with my new stance arms! I ordered my shit with Andrew over at 240sx motoring. They are great with customer service, every encounter I have had with them has been pleasant. My coils were are on backorder. hopefully they will be here this week.

I also decided now would be a good time to repaint the calipers. I got them torn apart ready for paint.

I also I decided I wanted more angle outta the front so I lengthened the flca.

And this is how it sits now. I gotta cut my exhaust up before I can lower it anymore. Ill start on that Mon. I also gotta get some 225 45's for the front, and cut the pass quarter panel some more.

If you could tone the green down and make it a little more matte like the gold on the Stance parts, I think you'd be money; looks good as is though.

Fab looks good, too!

Man, I love that custom work, and the green looks good, you're making it look clean, but you're making it your own. Keep it up.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. This whole build is about personality, about not following. A car is nothing more than an extension of ones self. This is me.

My new 3in resonator came in today. But because my son turns 6 Saturday, I am going to have to wait til this coming week I can start cutting my exhaust up. I'm also waiting for a friend to bring me my sander so I can start on some body work.

I also picked up a 89-90 front lip. It had a small crack in it. I repaired it with some epoxy and screen. Lets see how it holds up.

People dont realize how easy it is to fix shit sometimes. I myself cannot afford to buy all new everything. So I salvage what I can.

I got my bushings for my front sway bar in. Didn't get to do too much to the car cause I was busy making some s13 to z32 e brake brackets. I also snapped a couple pics of the exhaust that im about to hack up.
