s14 Seat Suggestions

Can anyone suggest a seat for a 5' 7" 31 waist driver? It's kind of hard to track down and test out seats.

Mainly looking at Recaros, Sparcos and Bride. Would rather have FIA approved than not.

After a bit of research it looks like Pole Positions, SPGs, Evo and Zeta IIIs are good canidates.

Can anyone chime in? I've already searched through the 'Master Guide' but it's a bit outdated.

You sound like a good candidate for Zeta III sizing. They're small. SPG is more comfortable, but has lower side bolsters. Both Zeta III or SPG are more comfortable than an Evo. Pole Position is like sitting on a park bench, but that's why it is the cheapest. I have a Zeta III, but if I were to do it again I would get a SPG.

Go with Recaro, probably the most comfortable racing seats for the streets you can get in my opinion. Currently have recaro sr7 reclining on bride mo seat rail and its solid fitment and I'm 34 waist and 5'9.

I was sort of leaning towards the Recaro due to the fact that it seems they're a bit more legitimate in terms of the crash tests, but I want something to hug me more than not. The car is going to be tracked often.

Any of those options will hold you fine as long as it fits you well. Check out dimensions and match them up with your size.

I've got evo 8 seats they are awesome.

But if you plan on actually racing or doing anything extravagant, don't buy some cheap ass knock off seat cause it looks like bride buy a good up to date REAL FIA approved seat.

You can fit in Zeta 3's or Zeig if you like the higher bolsters. At TAS I was able to sit in quite a few Recaro and Bride seats. I was looking at fixed back and was interested in the RS-G series and the Zeta/Maxis series Bride seats. I found the Recaro's were a bit more snug for me. I preferred the overall feel of the Bride seats though.

I'm 5'6" with a 30" waist by the way.

I'm 5'7.5" and 30" waist and fit perfectly and comfortably in my Recaro reclinable SR3's. Never sat in a fixed seat so I can't help you there lol.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I really want to try some out and not blind buy, but at least I'll have a good idea of what I'm getting into (literally) if I do have to.

being in socal I know there are a few places you can go actually sit in seats. Find what you want online, search dealers and call one that's local and see if they have one to sit in

I've been kicking around the idea of scooping up a couple of Recaros for my S14, but want to keep the seats low, as I'm 6'1". Suggestions on rails, with that in mind, is appreciated.

Best,
