bad boost gauge or other?

Last night when Idrove home from a friend's house, I noticed my boost gauge would not show vacuum like it normally does. Even when the car is idling, it registers only zero. the car starts and runs fine, so I know there is at least some vacuum. The boost gauge registers boost fine, so does this mean the boost line is collapsing under vacuum or is it something else?

bad boost line

I hooked up my vacupump and read idle vacuum of 18 mm Hg, so I think the problem is in the boost gauge. I can get a reading off of the same line. I wonder what would cause this problem. It still reads boost, just not vacuum

Mine did that when the line was kinked. Only under boost did it straighten out and read on the gauge.

Bad Gauge

Yep. It's the gauge. I removed it and hooked my vacuum pump to it and it wouldn't go below 0 psi. Then I noticed I could move the needle around by spinning one of the machine screws that was loose.

Autometer fails again
