KA rough idle issues

went to start the car, started for a sec w/ a rough idle then died

tried to start again but wouldnt turn over; I attached some jumper cables and the car would turn over, idle for a sec, and then die

and it wouldnt idle enough for me to step on the throttle to keep it alive, just turned over roughly and instantly died.

ideas? thanks

You should probably start by checking the obvious things...

Spark Plugs? (Good condition?)
Fuel? (Everything working ok?)
MAF? (Nice and clean? How about the plug?)

More info would be nice also =)
