I'm not from Ca, but I've read here that it will not pass emmissions in Ca, not sure about CT.

Best case scenario is that with a nice, fresh cat you can pass the sniffer test (used in many states). The problem in CA and many other urban areas is the visual test. In this, you engine will be visually inspected to make sure that all emissions equipment is present. On an SR, it ain't! Over all result is failure and possible impoundment of your ride (so I hear).
