body molding question

I was flipping threw the super street mag some days ago and i was reading about the new hyundai hks was improving. as i read it said they brought in a guy from some where in japan to build the bodykit from scratch. he used wood sculping tools and puddy ... wtf kind of puddy was it? thats what i have been trying to figure out.
any ideas?

Sculpting clay would be my guess. They heat it, apply and shape it, then let it cool. After they have a design they like, they make a mold. Not as easy as it sounds, but that's the basics behind it.

I want that kit ASAP when I get that car

Thats exactly what they used, Its the same type of clay that car companies use to design full size vehicles

i used to work for Asuka Designs here in Long Beach, they make custom bodykit..
the putty they use is just bodyfiller or " bondo" as most calls it...
if you look at the pics in the Super Street.. that's not all bodyfiller,
cardboard or sheet metal is used to make the layout and lines of the car before finalizing it with bodyfiller to give it a much more nicer look.

This is what i mean by saying useing cardboard....dont mind me in the picture

the designer that's brought in for the Hyundai got it easy with technology nowadays..
all he have to do is one side of the car and just use 6axis technology to copy to the other side..
