if the front stock s14 usdm calipers were a cost cutting measure, i wouldn't be surprised if they were a compromise... |

sykik : if it stops raining ull get a decent answer on that this weekend. well i don't have dials so unless i can't get you a very precise answer.
option : true... someone correct me if i'm wrong but having weaker then neccesary brakes in the front is alot worse then having weaker then neccesary brakes in the back. its a recipe for locking up the rear all the time; and the s14 was RWD car marketed to the masses... from what sykik said ( arigatou sykik - u are a great resource ) it seems 300zx calipers + s14 rears seem to be a great (but untested) combo on the s13. i think us s14'rs will have to figure out what makes for a good combo on the 14 in a similar manner. between some weird combo of s14/s13/q45/300zx i think we can come up with something. |

based on what's been said for s14; would that mean a good brake setup would be the stock rear calipers, 300zx fronts and the MC like option said? |

your gonna have to figure out the stock bias using the stock split point for your car, and then find an ideal setup for you. If you think the stock brakes a have a a little too much front bias, see if you can figure out what combination of parts will allow for about a ~2% additional rear bias..

time to read up on brakes and bias... thanks for your advice sykik.
westbor : i'd rather just stick with the basics. simpler the better imo. interesting idea though. |

sorry to bring back a dead but very interesting thread but has syk gotten an answer from stoptech. Im looking into piecing a very nice brake setup. I have contacted wilwood into prototyping a kit of some form. if not i have a set of massive 4-piston calipers (off a hotrod that ran 1.75" thick 13-inch rotors). if i got with that. definately investing into a proption valve and maybe even tilton floor mounted pedal system

I got stoptechs on my 240sx they brake so quick if you needa corner or if you needa stop quickly cuz someone cuts you off ( -.-" some retarded people you know, never know what happens) but anyway they are quite amazing just a pain to maintance cuz theres 4 pistons and because its so big its hard to move it around when doing maintance.

It's funny to compare the difference in grammar in technical forum posts between now and ELEVEN FUCKING YEARS AGO.
