KA How to tell the difference between ODB1 and OBD2 transmissions?

planning to do a manual swap soon on my 97' kouki KA24DE. I have had such a hard time finding 5 speed manual transmissions. If you have one HMU too (located in Glen Allen). I have found one and he claims it came from a zenki. I know I have an ODB2 car and transmission and I believe i need an OBD2 5 speed transmission for the swap as well. He claims it is an ODB2 transmission but how can i be sure? is there anyways to tell from looking at it if it is obd1 or obd2? What are draw backs for the swap if it isnt? thank you!

The only difference AFAIK is the mounting boss for the crank position sensor. It's on the top of the bellhousing on the exhaust side.

You can see it right below the (OK) on this trans.

AFAIK all S14s have this. On my late late '93 S13 there's a raised surface there in the casting but no drilled holes. On most S13 transmissions there's nothing there. You should actually be able to just use your crank position sensor (or its mounting boss on your auto trans) as a template and drill the holes in an S13 trans.
