S14 KA24DE Start Up problem

Sup everyone, so I have this weird issue with my S14. So at first crank, the car starts up perfectly. However if I let the motor run for awhile, then shut it off and start it up again, it briefly starts up, but then dies..weird..I would check the ECU codes, but my ECU is throwing way too many (around 6 or so) so no clue how to narrow down the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I'd start narrowing things down by getting rid of some of those other codes so you can do some actual diagnostic work.

You might as well give us the other codes. If anything, we can help you fix some codes.

Here is the awesome list of failure:

25 – IACV-AAC Valve
77 – Rear O2 Sensor
81 – ? (Possibly 82 which indicates a problem with the crank position sensor)
87 – ?
91 – ?
93 – ?
105 – EGRC Solenoid/V
132 – ?

So I'm sure my Rear O2 is okay and EGRC is working..Now for the other codes, I couldn't find any reference to them in the FSM.

At times, I think I might just have a faulty ECU, which is a bugger. I don't mind paying for a replacement, but the hard part is actually finding an identical ECU for my S14.

So did you figure out what your problem was on your S14??

If not, then use the SEARCH function here on Zilvia & see if you can download a Factory Service Manual to help you troubleshoot your problem.

Judging on the amount of Diagnostic Trouble Codes your car is kicking out, you might have a short in one of your ground wires. Check the ground wires above your Oxygen sensor on the driver side of the motor towards the rear of the motor. Nissan uses this spot as a grounding location for several of your sensor wires. If this ground spot goes bad then your car will die. I had this problem several years ago with my S14. It took the dealer three days to figure out that the connector for my ground wires had gone bad. That's possibly the reason why you are kicking out so many diagnostic trouble codes.

Anyhow, hope this helps...

sorry for the late reply, I was out shooting Gymkhana Grid the last two days..anyways, I haven't figured out my problem, but the solution that you suggest might just do the trick. I'll take a look at my S14 tomorrow if the weather clears up and I'll follow up. Thanks again.
