The long asS13 coupe build thread
This build thread is an accumulation of almost 3 years of work and ever changing ideas. I'm going to be posting all of these pictures as quickly as I can to get everyone up to date but I will have to do this in a couple posts so just give me a few hours to get us up to date. Also I am missing a lot of photos due to my phone going to the bottom of the lake so just hang with me.
Sneak peek I picked up the car from my high school best friend who had owned it since we were in high school. He had never modded it past a shift knob, and an hks sticker and radiator cap. After 10 years of asking him to sell it, he finally let her go when the old motor gave up on him. I picked her up and took her home to begin her slow transformation First I pulled the KA apart and gave her a quick rebuild. Sadly I forgot to take many pictures at this point. Then I found that the fuel pump was beyond worn out so she got a new walbro 255 Replaced the dead window motor. Hadn't worked in YEARS! I had some carbon fiber vinyl laying around so I played with it. The speedo hasn't worked since high school and I couldn't find another HUD type working so I just went searching for analog Used a greddy informeter in the mean time The shocks on the car were years and years beyond blown and were ready to fall apart so I ordered a set of coilovers for her The radio had been stolen out of the car long ago so I picked up a new one Removed the old amplifier Removed the broken antenna and put in a working unit The car needed a new air filter so I took care of that. I had sold him the hks filter back when we were 19. The stock steering wheel was destroyed so it got replaced After riding around in the stock seats, I could tell that I needed more lateral support. So I picked up a set of messed up R32 seats and recoved them I decided that I needed more support for an upcoming drift day so I began working on making a seat bracket that would sit me low enough to get in the car with a helmet |
