Thumbs down Clutch slips when dash is not working

Hello,

New to this car. My dash/digital speedo/HUD doesn't work more than half of the time. I've noticed it typically works after/when sitting in the sun, or if its been warmed up for a long period of time & there are other times I turn it on and its working.

But, When its not working, usually in 5th gear, But has happened in 4th as well. It feels like the clutch stops engaging. It does not pop out of gear, and it will only do it for a few seconds and then it will engage again.

This ONLY happens when dash is NOT working, When everything is working this is not an issue and the car runs fine.

Any help or suggestion as to where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you think the clutch is slipping? Ignoring the dash, what mechanical symptoms are you seeing?

when in 5th gear it stops engaging, does not pop out or anything, rpms drop , then a few seconds later it engages again.

Dude, you have an electrical gremlin somewhere. A slipping or "disengaging" clutch will cause the engine to rev up because it has the same throttle input without the load. I recommend you take it to a shop.

No offense, but I recommend you do some reading around here and the internet on the mechanical side of cars and how they work. While certain parts might be complex, the systems overall are normally very simple in how they function. It isn't a coincidence, it is a symptom. Take it to a shop.

If you have done the research, why did you believe the engine losing power = clutch slipping? Rhetorical question. I would check your harnesses. Also try and identify what your symptoms actually are. Hopefully someone who has experienced the exact issues will be able to chime in and help, but they might need a more exact description to narrow it down.
