Seen this car around a few times. Looks better in person.

Good work.

Yeah, to import one will run me roughly 4k to my doorstep. That's with low mileage and overall better condition than most of the ones in the US for the price. I'm still amazed people are able sell beat up chassis with sr5 -> gts conversions for like 3k. haha

just a quick update, slider2828 and some research convinced me to purchase a set of swift springs and some thrust bearings for my Megan coils before I get my car corner balanced this week. ^_^

Swift Springs | Domo Factor

I'll be giving a full write-up about them sometime this weekend after I install them and test out how they feel.

who cares? many people replace the springs on there BaLl3R coilovers because swift springs are the shit. he could sell his megan coils and keep the springs. i bet the ride was night and day as well as the performance.

I can't quite afford DG5's. This is my next best option. btw, the dampers for megan's really aren't that bad. sure they could probably be better, but I've had these things for 4 years without any issues. So, unless you have/had something like DG5, Blistein, Zeal, or KW and can comment on those coils, take a look at this thread and then reassess your opinion.

Yup, I agree. Even something standard like apexi or tein coils won't have springs as good springs as swift. I haven't installed them yet, so I can't personally comment on how they are. But, I'll be sure to update this weekend once I get them on. lol

lol, did you see the link to the northamerican motoring thread? he puts both the megan spring and the swift spring into a shock dyno to do a comparison.

Thanks for the compliment though! I don't cheap out on everything. OS Giken rear end, OMP seat, build SR w/ 2871r and a haltech is all on the way in 2012. I like to do what I can the proper way. If its something I can't quite do 100% (running DG5 coils) then I'll go with my next best option.lol

my main point though was that just because they're cheaper than most, it doesn't make them shitty. Sure it makes them cheap, since they probably didnt use the same quality parts, i.e the springs, as other higher end stuff. But i've done both daily and track time on them over 4 years and haven't had any issues. Good $800 investment if I do say so myself. If I was going to do serious comp stuff, then yeah i'd probably want something with a bit more quality and performance.

Finally got around to doing a full write-up on the springs w/ the new corner balance and alignment.

To sum it all up, this feels like a completely different car now. It's way more responsive, and has more stability and grip mid corner compared to before. lol they really make a difference in ride quality. Alot of the subtle bumps/vibrations are totally gone when cruising at normal speed (35-45mph).

I go back and forth everyday trying to decide if I want to paint my Z either Satin White Pearl or Midnight Purple, and I think your car swayed my opinion once again, it's looks nice.

Where'd you get the paint from? Is it metallic at all or just straight gloss?

rather than drop the front which will make your car handle worse, why not just raise the rear. a good 95% of the people on forums are fuck-tards who are only concerned about looks, if that.

lol nice! Glad I was able to spread the midnight purple addiction.^_^ I got mine from a local paint shop. But, you should be able to get it at any normal place that sells auto paint. The Nissan paint code is LP2 and its called Cabernet as opposed to the one in japan that's actually called Midnight Purple. Both are the same color though.

It's not metallic, but the purple does have a bit of blue pearl in it.

well, I'm not part of that 95% since I ended up getting a corner balance to get everything all even across all 4 wheels. I prefer my car be just functional first and foremost, then look nice second. my front still might look a tad high without the lip, but it handles great. lol

Yeah, lol I tossed the domo out a while ago.

The car looks good the way it sits, don't think I've seen a Mignight Purple s13 type X build yet.
If it's not too troublesome, where did you purchase the swift springs?

Thanks!^_^ Yeah, that was one of the reasons I went with this setup/color.

no problem, I mentioned it in my blog post that I linked to. I got mine for 377 shipped from Touge Factory. These are the specs that I got.

Front: 65mm(2.5″) Inner Diameter, 8k(448lbs) Spring Rate, 178mm(7″) Length

Rear: 65mm(2.5″) Innder Diameter, 6k(336lbs) Spring Rate, 203mm(8″) Length

Just a quick update to things, I've been pretty MIA for a while, so I'll keep things short and just link back to my blog. haha here's some recent upgrades i'm doing and some photoshoot stuff. lol

-Picked up a small sub/amp combo, and putting together a new brake setup of 4-piston brembo's up front from the Cadillac CTS-V and Z32 2-pistons in the rear with Z32 aluminum knuckles!

Some quick updates, since I keep forgetting to update this thread.

Finished up my CTS-V brake swap. So far it feels great, and i'm glad I went this route!

Yuki: CTS-V/Z32 Brake Swap Progress | Domo Factor
Yuki: cts-v/z32 brake swap finished! | Domo Factor

Originally, had plans for an OS Giken diff, but this S15 Torsen diff popped up for a great deal, and came with new bearings, ring gear bolts, and halfshafts!

Yuki: Maintenance, and new S15 torsen diff | Domo Factor

Lastly, there was a bunch of fog rolling through the seattle area today, so I took time to do a photoshoot and play around with my camera.
