Whoever said the thing about the gas mileage sucking after 62 mph is right. I drove from Costa Mesa Ca to fresno Ca this weekend, and filled up with 89 octane and 36 psi in the tires and only used 1/3 of a tank going there, then I filled up again on the way back and got the same milege, I am sure it would have been a little better if the cruisecontrol worked. that is roughly 265 miles on bout 5 gallons of gas. Super good gas mileage.

96 S14
--------- I/H/E (leaking between 4th runner and EGR) S13 Cams 25* timing VLSD bad alignment If i dont drive like an asshole, i usually can get 260-270/tank and when i fill up i take between 10.5/11.5 gallons. And thats with the tank almost on E. Since theres no warning light, i usually fill up when the needle starts getting near E. Im sure if i ran it to fumes i could get 300mi/tank. Once i get a proper alignment, fix the leak, and get a tuned ECU im sure my MPG will improve. |

Just get an alignment, you're basically throwing money out the window (wasting money and time) if you don't have your car aligned.

Yea, i realize that. Waiting to get my rear 5lug, ES FLCA bushings, and my ERS springs installed on my Fortune coilovers then i'll get an alignment.

I have a freshly rebuilt ka24de (300 miles) with forged internals JE 9.1 comp, 248/248 cams, z32 MAF, AFC NEO.
Right now I am doing almost 100% city driving in Seattle and am getting 17.2 mpg, I am thinking that isn't too bad especially since I am letting it idle 2-5 min before driving it. |

I got 20 mpg city with my sr20det 240sx. I am not really happy about it especially with 93 octane gas. Do you guys think 240sx with lsx t56 and 2.73 rear end will get 30mpg city?

It would actually be just under 50 by his math but he needs to do it again top off the tank and then again when he gets there to know exactly how much fuel he used. His math is based off 250miles using roughly 5 gallons. But if he used 6 or 7 it would be between 35 and 42 miles to the gallon which id say is believable. More believable than a member on here claiming 50some odd mpg with a single cam with a 255lph fuel pump. Lol no.

my 92 ka24de with suspension and no power add-ons . i have recorded 22.3 mpg on long highway drives. that is with an average speed of about 75 mph . with a couple pushes towards 90-95. i'm sure i can bring up the mpg to about 24 if i drove like grandma, but city driving is under 20 mpg.

If you are light on the throttle on both engines, the SR20 has less displacement, and a lower compression ratio than a KA at full vacuum, so in theory a KA will always need more fuel to cover the increased compression volume. Small engine turbo is great. 30+mpg and 2xx horsepower whenever you want it

my 93 ka24de got 32.5 averaging about 70 over a 200 some mile trip
Stock engine, minus megan cat-back exhaust with rattling baffles and aftermarket filter. Definitely need to test this under 62 mph mpg boost. |

So I've been tracking my fuel mileage since this thread started on Fuelly and I still have not been able to break 24 mpg (completely stock 1998 ka24 but on heavy 18" 350z anniversary wheels)
I am always up to date with maint and the car is running fine. Does the efficiency of having i/h/e add another 6 mpg? |

damn, I get roughly 20-25 mpg in city seems pretty weak imo. I have short commutes like 3-4 miles. Sometimes it feels as if I am only getting 15 mpg...
Stock ka24de injen intake 5zigen border 3 exhaust coilovers that's about it... car is not pulling any cel or anything. To the guy who mentioned that the car can get tuned out in the rom... how or where to do that? i drive 75+sometimes on the freeway would like to make it no rich if possible. also, what happen to the gear ratio calculator file it's a dead link =( Thanks! |

Drove to Atlanta and back not too long ago, recorded 30.1 mpg on the SR. Overall I'm satisfied.

I drive mostly city every day in my bone stock Dual cam car, gets around 28 MPG.
No idea what highway would be. When I went from 18" Battles to S14 SE's I gained 5 MPG.
