LHD Conversions?

I'm moving up to BC later in the year and plan on getting back into drifting at some point.

If I import something not originally available in the US/Canada, how much messing around is an LHD conversion?

I'll use R33/JZX90 as an example for the mean time. How much of a pain in the ass is driving an RHD car where most cars are LHD?

I'd possibly also bring the car back to the States with me when I move back there in a few years time.

it's not as bad as you'd think. all of our work vehicles are american spec cars/trucks and we have to drive them every day over here. you get used to it eventually.

Is an LHD conversion do-able on said cars?

Say I did opt for an LHD Conversion on either one of those cars, are there parts readily available to do so from other Toyotas/Nissans in the US/Canada?

I realize that they were only ever realised as RHD.

What I meant was is there an LHD Toyota/Nissan you could pull parts from to do said conversion?

i know for a fact, straight from skyline owners in the US here, it is roughly 10,000$ to get the conversion done. that is only the work, price does not include having to find/fab another firewall and proper parts for the car. driving rhd is only "hard" when your making the left hand turns, like on a left turn lane in a intersection. it takes a while and you scrape rims a few times, but nothing more than that. maybe some shifting, but thats it.

good luck man, and in my honest opinion - skylines are nice, over rated for what they are, and definitely not worth the hassle/money needed to have one.

what you can do with a skyline, you can do with many other cars.

If you moving up to Canada, why would you get a LHD conversion. RHD's are legal.

As for driving it around. Its really not that different. you are moved like 3 feet to the right. Just get used to the shifting and the signal switch and you will be good.

Like always. drive with caution and you will be fine

the r32 gtr dash fitment looks like shit, look at the door

also, this is either all custom firewall fabrication, or they cut holes into the existing fire wall. Either way costs big bucks, no skyline in existence has been offered, aftermarket or not, a LHD conversion kit. Also take into consideration, United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, all that shit, they all have skylines and the law there is it has to be LHD converted. These guys are rich as fuck and pay big $ to do it, some people in the Philippines could have just imported it from there.

They dont sell a conversion kit what so ever they have to convert it before they sell it, most cars there in philippines come straight from japan . An no The philippines is poor as fuck,Hard to find exotic cars there .

And other conversions.

silvia s13 is opted out, the discussion is about car's that DO NOT come with LHD versions from the factory. R34 is not the r34 dash, more than likely not the same fire wall. As well as, i'm sure if some one in the Philippines can afford an r34, or r32, or s15 then they have a decent amount of money in their pockets.

It is just really pointless if you don't have to do it. I don't think i have seen one of these conversions done in canada, don't know if anyone does them here. It is because it is pointless and a complete waste of money. They are not hard to drive. My dad got used to driving RHD within 5min and he had never driven one before, he didn't feel it was much harder. If your going to be a vagina dont buy a rhd vehicle

Drive thru's are fine in rhd. It is a little tougher, you have to reach across your car or go through it in reverse; done that a couple time lol

Those conversion may look clean, but how clean are they actually.

The handbrake is on the opposite side. not cool

I daily drive my skyline, i was next to 3 cops at one point, they don't care.

As long as you aren't doing anything you shouldn't be doing. They don't care

Keep it RHD, don't waste your time doing something you don't have too
