25psi on a gt2860 on 93 octane? Seriously??

I'm just trying to figure out what the heck is going on here...

Most sr20's with cams and basic bolt-ons will make 330whp at a 20psi ceiling.

25psi has got to be detonation city. Does this not sound kind of ridiculous to you? 25psi on a turbo that small with 93octane is unheard of.

Who tuned the car?

people run boost like that on evo's all the time on Pump. 25psi is just one factor of many when it comes to detonation
like : quality of fuel, Timing, BAT's, Cylinder / head design

I've pushed 24-26 psi on a 16G before on pump.. it was choked by redline .. but

Glad I'm not the only one who thought something is wrong. People make that power on s15 turbos. Full built and that much power? That's some shit

This isn't an evo boss. People might push that in the land of other vehicles, but I know my sr's and something isn't right.

25psi on 93octane is detonation. The only variable is if the timing is next to nothing. Which still means the tune is a hack job. I'm just trying to figure it out and possibly help the OP. With a forged short block you can be all over detonation for a substantial amount of time before it finally blows ring lands into dust.

25psi on 93octane is detonation. Period. I'm just trying to figure it out and possibly help the OP. With a forged short block you can be all over detonation for a substantial amount of time before it finally blows ring lands into dust.
true true.. evo's do perform differently then most other cars.

another truth, forged components can handle some Deto.. but not forever.also too 330whp does sound low ( to me ) for that turbo @ that much boost. unless the motor was built with like 6:1 compression ratio or something.
I'd go with what you say over what I'm saying. something is wrong.

Garrett rates the gt2860rs at capable of 330 which is what I'm making. The turbo hits 25psi terribly long before the turbo realizes that's beyond its flow map. then chokes out and holds down to 20psi steady. I trust you I'm having no detonation or knock its not holding 25psi bolt a new gtx2863r on the car and you will be over 400 all day. Also I do not use corn gas the car always gets octane booster and sonetimes 103 because its readily available around me. Motor is healthy compression/leakdown test it if you don't believe me. Work was all done by Hux racing and yeah the tune is slightly conservative so the car is reliable to be driven daily. It has been on this set up/rebuild over a year driven hard and never had the slightest hiccup or problem other than regular oil changes.
