RB Z32 shifter striker rod removal

I have searched with no luck, so I apologize if this has been posted before.

I have a S13, with RB26 swap and Z32 TT manual trans. I need to shorten the shifter bracket and ?striker rod?, also replace the dust boot on the back of the trans. Is the striker rod removable? or is it permanently attached to the trans?

I have to shorten both and it would make the job easier if the striker rod can be removed. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
