Did you just start the motor for the first time? If so the rings need to seat so there will be lots of blow by at first. Should get a lot better after break in.

I'm at about 30miles, my main question is would piston ring blow by come threw the crankcase breather hose at the same pressure as the oil cap?

Ok I hope that my valves aren't seating since that's way easier, I tried asking my friends dad, but I don't think he knew what I meant

Well continue proper break in and check it when you're done. If after you are done breaking it in and you're still concerned do a leak down test.

Did you buy this motor from a importer or craigslist? sounds like the rings are done.

did you route your lines correctly?

you could be pressurizing your crankcase, causing a lot of blow by.

Is that the fitting on the back left of the valve cover? If so nothing is, I was going to put an air filter on it, is that supposed to go to the intake also? I just saw that people have run that to an oil catch can with a filter and thought a filter would be fine.

Yea, that's supposed to run to a fitting on the back of your intake manifold. There should've been a swivel fitting included with the manifold or you can just get a 90 degree elbow that threads into the back on the manifold to run a hose from your pcv valve off of your valve cover to. It's not supposed to be left open. There should be suction on your catch can as well. I can tell from the picture but I'm guessing there's a filter on the other port of the catch can? Here's a good thread on catch can set ups. http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t...ighlight=catch

You're going to have less blowny gases through the PVC hose because the vc is baffled.. Unlike when you remove the oil cap. Do a leak down test. Boom done
