s13 NRG Hood Dampers HD-600CF - won't fit?

Hey!

Just got a set of brand new NRG hood dampers, and started installing them this week. I got to the step in their instructions where you have to bolt the bracket to the top bolt of the hood hinge. The bracket looks just like the one on their website pic. It's tiny square, with a ball stud sticking out, and the two are clearly marked "L" or "R". There's a U-channel carved out on one side of the bracket, and it appears that it's supposed to go around the top of the hood hinges.

BUT....
it dosen't fit. The u-channel dosen't match the shape of the rounded corner of my hood hinge!

What am I doing wrong? Anybody else have this exact kit, or the stainless HD-600 kit, and can help me out or post some pics?

Oh, my car's a 91 RPS13 180sx. Thanks!

SR

Here are some pics:

-> the bracket does not lay flat against the hood and hinge.

-> there is a U channel cut out on the back side, but it dosen't fit over the hinge itself.

This bracket is the one stamped "R". If I try and use the one that's stamped "L", there is nothing to stop the bracket from spinning around. The instructions also show that the bracket should have the channel facing the hood bracket.

Ideas? Anybody installed this kit yet?

Well whatevs, I just used a grinder to grind that bracket down so that it fit flush. If you take a tiny corner out of it it will still lock into place and not spin around.

Since I can find no other write up or any info on this at all I hope it at least helps another Zilvian out.
