Anyone know the differences between the s13 ka trans and the s14 ka trans?
supposedly the s14 uses a synchronized reverse gear
(I found out SR transmissions are very different from KA)
any information would help greatly
and to clarify im talking about internals

s14 trans has a hole in the top of the bellhousing for that additional Crank sensor.

not much info out there about the actual differences in internals. and each trans is so similar its hard to even see the differences without having 2 side by side transmissions in front of you to look at
doesn't seem like many ppl dig into the trans
Theres really not much info out there at all on the trans as far as rebuilding it swapping parts. theres also a very limited parts availability

ill give you a tip for searching: I like to search with google instead of the zilvia. I searched 's13 s14 transmission difference site:zilvia.net'

the 'site:zilvia.net' makes it so it will only display results from zilvia. I like the way the search results are displayed better then the advanced search found on the forum.

im looking at internal differences

It looks like the SR's run a few sealed bearings where the ka version doesn't
Some of the trans runs a 3 pc 2nd gear synchro
later models had syncrhonzed reverse gears
trying to figure out what can be salvaged from on to the other

there is very limited information on this

I only briefly read some of it (multitasking). but try searching by the trans name itself. I found more by searching by the trans code vs. s13/4 trans.
