Sure, I can see that. The BFG Sport Comps I got may be slightly less width than advertised. My fronts are a 9j and I am running a 255/35R18. It is pretty damn square, but a different tire may be wider and balloon slightly. What tires are you running?

silviaks2nr - thanks a lot for your input! Your setup is exactly what I am going towards.

^^^Agreed with the above. Stock sizing on my V coupe was 9" wheel = 255 and 10" wheel = 285 and it looks great. I'm now running a 305 on the rear 10" wheel and it still looks like it fits the wheel well.

Meh.

I don't even like 285's on a 10j. (My current setup up front.)

I have 295's mounted for test fit and they still look a bit undersquare to me.

* take it with a grain of salt bc tire mfr's do whatever they like and stamp numbers on tires regardless of size - I've see 205's wider than 215's across brands.

Anybody know of a fabricator that makes a plate to relocate upper coilover mounts inboard like so?

These are Jason Merrits pics of his car btw.

GkTech and PBM both offer offset strut tops. Wisefab has them as well but I believe they aren't available separately.

^ I looked into those, but they seen to simply replace the upper coilover tophat?
And they keep the strut top within the oem opening afaik.

Hello all. I am wanting to run a nitto NT555R drag radial 275/50/15 on a 15x8 weld draglite. I'm trying to avoid pulling the rears. I have no problems rolling the lip tho. I am running stock rear suspension as of now. I know a 5.5 backspace will work which is a 20 something offset but may have to pull the finder. I thought about using a 6.5 BS which I think is like a 48-51 offset and using a 5-10mm spacer to clear the spring. What I am unsure of is when the car squats at launch is the tire going to move inward and make contact with the spring. As of right now I have a 245/50/16 with 16x8 +20mm and I have a little over 2" from the sidewall of the tire and the spring. s13 hatch.

I'm so glad this thread is still alive 3 years after I sold my 240. I just recently bought another 97. I wont get as aggressive with this one probably...

Here's my old 97

Enkei RPF01
235/45/17 (I think) 17x8.5 +35mm Front
275/35/17 (I think) 17x10 +18mm Rear

I can't believe I don't have any real good pics of just the wheels on the car..

I did have to stretch the fenders some though

Here's how much they stuck out on the sides

Finally, here's sort of a crap front 3/4ths shot

I have looked and looked.

None of them relocate to allow camber adjustment independently from caster.

None of them allow for relocation outside the bolt circle (most likely so they can adhere to D1 rules).

I'll talk to a local fabricator buddy to see what he can come up with.

PBM has caster/camber plates for their pro series coilovers.

Non-FD legal Wisefab kits relocate the strut top outside of the bolt circle.

This is a little equation I like to go by for proper tire width:

((Wheel Width * 25.4) + 25.4) = X, then round X to nearest available tire width.

Example, 9.5" wheel.

((9.5 * 25.4) + 25.4) = 266.7 = nearest tire width available would be 265.

So on a 9.5" wheel I would most likely run a 265 wide tire... 255 and 275 can also be options here.

^ thats actually very handy. I always used this site since im lazy but it seemingly works pretty well http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/ty...dth-calculator

My own question for the thread, I may try to fit 18x12s in the rear of my s13 (planning to run 305s), ive got 70mm overs laying around, and was wondering whether a +12 or +20mm offset would fit the overs better. Would i need to run spacers or would they actually poke?
Another quick speculative question is what sort of spacers would it take to run 18x10.5 +20 under the same 70mm fenders in the rear?

This is pretty spot-on.
I always tend to go a bit wider to be safe - I've run 275's on a 9 or 9.5 and it wasn't square enough for my liking - I'm ok with 295's on 10's that I have now, strangely enough, but 285's weren't quite enough. :/

* tires vary by model and mfr, in the same size - as do wheels to a certain extent.

I have 335/30/18 on 18x12's et20 in the rear of my s13 (coupe) and 50mm overs aren't quite wide enough - even bowed.
I have too much camber for my liking in order to tuck properly.
With maybe 1.5 deg of camber, I can run no spacers, so I would recommend this offset for you with 70-80mm rear overs.

As it stands, I'm going to see if I can run almost no rear camber and rocket bunny flares on top of my overfenders.

Mockup:

Thanks man, im glad to see itll work out pretty much perfect. What does your setup in front look like if you dont mind me asking? And how much power are you running to move that much rubber in the back?

Here's the front - I think before I lowered it a bit more:

You can see that I was mocking it all up and test fitting as I went.

The motor is a Jdm aristo 2jzgte with a gt37 turbo - no idea on power bc I haven't dyno'd it.
It's fun, but laggy.

+16 is getting into rolling/pulling fender territory. Definitely won't need spacers.

I know it's not max tire possible but is still more than most people on this site run so figured this would be the place to look, anyone have pics of an s13 coupe on 17x9 with 235/40 and 17x10 with 255/40 that sits actually low? This is the best pic I could find but would like to see more up close ones if possible

We all start somewhere. Picked up a set of R33 GTR wheels today and did a quick test fit. My S14 is still on stock suspension.

17x9 +30
235/45R17 Front
245/45R17 Rear

Rear tires are bald, so I'm debating on replacing with same size or going with 245/40R17 all around.

Now I need to lower it.

Tire recommendation S13 coupe, I wanted flush as possible. Stock body, have fenders rolled, front just have coilovers and rears I have toe and rucas. About a 1" gap from tire and fender. For the front I'll be running 17x8+5 and rear is 17x9+5. I'm confused, I see ppl run 225 on 9" rims up front, on like offset +(18-25 ). As far as rears, I search and see people running 245-45 on rear on 9" offset +(18-35). So if anyone can give me some help I'll greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've got 255's on 17x9 +22 RPF1's. Fenders slightly pulled all around.
