Sure you can. With nistune or the like. But without some sort of a daughter board it's probably just not going to happen. Others try using an Apexi Safc (not reccomended), but it only alters the fuel map, not the timing as well which is needed.

It does not allow for you to alter the timing map as you wish, but it does blindly screw it up for the worse.

Best bet is to go with nistune, if you want to tune the stock ecu.

Amen brother. I've seen it do crazy things firsthand. Yet others still swear by it. I just didn't want to be the one to say it's trash and start an argument with someone that's a believer haha

I dont mind arguing with them every time. If they are a believer in them then they dont understand how the ecu or safc works which makes proving them wrong easy.

It's possible if you have the software to turn binary into tables.

Bikirom, calum, rs enthalpy, nistune, nismotronic (moates).

99 percent sure all of those use daughterboards and have software programming available for them. The last 3 on the above list are your best options imo. The daughterboards replace emulators and re-writeable 28 pin roms from years past. They do it all in one package deal saving you ALOT of headache.

it's not a simple socket/burn like you would a honda ecu though you can use a honda ecu to run your ka and chip it as well as taking advantage of switching over to a map sensor. Do some reading if that piques your interests. For sure read up on eccs/jecs rom tuning. You'll find alot of old information and dead links but it should help making your decisions on ecu tuning a bit more clear.

Safc is fine for mild boosted setups but like the others said, you cannot touch the timing portion of the map at your will.

edit:
Maybe these links can help as well.

2 chip board and real time emulation.
