SR Avc-R question

Hey guys, I have an s13 sr and I just had an Avc-R installed. Now whenever I hit boost something clicks loud under my hood. The guys that installed it haven't used it before, and didn't set the intial settings. They think it's the actuator valve clicking? I also read in the manual that the actuator does click and I wanted to know what it sounds like, should it be constant, and is mine normal? It constantly clicks once the car starts to boost, and is pretty loud. But i also have a faint clicking sound that is not constant, apparent during idle but probably could be anything. Which one is it? Since it's not set up and I have standard bolt ons could it be overboosting and the actuator is working hard? Thanks for the info

What kind of clicking is it?

Clicking is normally done by solenoid valves - they don't blow open, the clicking lets air through in very high speed intervals, thats how these devices let air through. Injectors work the same way. They open and close so fast it sounds like clicking .
