I'll be replacing the hub bearings in the next few weeks. While I'm working on it, I may try to take some basic pics/measurements in case anyone is interested in roughly replicating it. No current interest in making them myself though, haha

I wonder what spindles they used. Maybe I could pick up a cheap used flat deck, strip the leafs from underneath and have some spindles welded to the sides of the deck [emoji848]

Your end result wouldn't be any less sloppy than this trailer, I can guarantee it.

Better yet, I'd perhaps suggest welding plates onto the frame, then bolting spindles onto the plate. Just in case you ever needed to replace the whole assembly.

The height of your trailer is nice to easily load and unload but I have a feeling if this was driven around hilly areas, it would scrape the street. It would be ideal to make a similar trailer with air suspension or possibly using motorcycle shocks/springs?

It's really not bad. It'll drag the tail corners on extreme dips, like pulling out of my terrible driveway. But normal lumps and bumps and crowns on the road aren't a problem.

Agreed though, having some sort of bagged cantilever design would be even better. There are a few companies out there that make them. Pretty neat, but more $$$ than I'm willing to spend personally.

I know what you mean by other companies, I forgot the name of the one in cali but it was easily 6k+. Otherwise, great trailer and glad you guys decided to bring this back alive.

thinking about getting an 01-05 sequoia. 6200-6500lbs tow capacity. They are also damn cheap. I cant find anyone towing cars with them though...

Picked up 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, rated to tow 6k pounds. I wanted something different and my kids are playing a lot of sports.(softball dad) My previous truck was 2011 F-150 ecoboost it towed like a boss! I will hold on to the Pathfinder until Toyota diesel truck has been on the road for two years, or the f-150 diesel. I towed 2800 pounds with the pathfinder easily and averaged about 22-23 MPG. I average 26-30 driving back and forth between ATX and SA daily.

My HEMI Durango 4x4 with tow package has a towing capacity of 8900lbs. More then enough for me. It also has plenty of space in the back for people or equipment.

It was also cheap.

1998.5 ram diesel. not the biggest or most powerful, but pulls great and haven't had many issues with it.

1996 Chevrolet Suburban 5.7 Vortec. I added stiffer front shocks and rear tow shocks with the 1500lb helper spring. Also did the Powerstop front brake kit with vented rotors. Tows great just gotta get the speed up for big mountain passes

Yeah its got a lean to it. I think it's also cause I flipped my hitch to get a better angle of loading and unloading the car. Which would put more load angle on the tongue. I need a set of those bolt on air bags. http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...ad=47584901292

It's not the lean that he's calling out its moreso how far forward you have the car on the trailer. Try and set it back further to where it's centered over the trailer axles.

My 2000 7.3 excursion (Rasputia). I'm this pic I was hauling my wife car full of our stuff on a 20ft, with the excursion loaded up too, plus 40gal of fuel in the tank. Kid in the second row watching a movie with bluetooth headphones. Drove like this from SoCal to San Antonio. Was driving in 111deg weather uphill in Cali trans temps a cool 170deg averaging 16+mpg loaded for 1200 miles. Super comfortable and easy to drive. Unloaded highway I can get 22mpg and 18-19 mixed. When I tow its like nothing is back there. Oh and she's stock besides mods to make her reliable. Anyone with a 7.3 truck get a 6.0 trans cooler, best $150 you'll put into a 7.3 truck.

Well boys, I did I thing. I went and impulse bought a 24 foot Haulmark Edge enclosed trailer. For the price he wanted it just seemed too cheap to let it go. Also waiting on tires for my F350 so had to rent a damn uhaul truck [emoji23]

Picked this up last month, first truck I've ever owned. 1996 F350 7.3t Powerstroke CCLB Dually.
195k miles, payed 4 thousand for it. Really didn't need a truck this large, or a diesel, or a dually.
But for the price it seemed stupid not to buy it. Would much rather have a 2000's Chevy 1500 lol.
Guess I can just put a for sale sign on it and try to flip it?

That's a nice truck, drive it a while and you might not want a little gas truck.

Nissan made some neat products, but is a totally different company now, makes totally different products, and they totally suck - they're low quality, short-lived, overpriced, prone to catastrophic failures, boring, and ugly... Get a cheap good chevy.

Totally agree with this. Fuck today's nissan!
FWIW I drive a 98 f150 4x4. Love the thing! At over 200k, the 4.6 lacks power but has been as reliable as it can be, but I couldn't tell how good it is with trailers, I only have a 2 wheel dollie (no brakes), and in my experience, those thing are fing scary...

Funny you said that. First thing I bought when I got to Texas was a B&W drop hitch and new batteries. Next will be a nice winch!

Took the trailer to the house today to test load the drift car and see how it would go. Ended up sticking my gktech ramps at the end of the trailer ramp and was able to drive the car in and out perfectly with just the front bumper off. Also I had the 2" hitch upside down at the time which is why the trailer is raked back some. I flipped it back the other way and now it sets dead level with the truck. I think I'll need to get a pair of race ramps to slightly lessen the angle with the trailer level.
