They are hid retrofitted. If i'm not mistaken he used Tsx projectors w/e46 shrouds, and just fitted them into Oem housing with a aftermarket clear lense.

Mmm...what happened to my email notifications? Anyways...
Wow bshotts, those look pretty close to OEM. Great job so far. I'm curious as to what projectors you used? and can you post some pics from the top so I can see just how far back you have them? I wanna compare them to mine. Mine looks like garbage compared to yours! lol

Anybody have S2 projectors?
Double sided tape? I'll try it...but what if i want to take off the shroud later on? will heat take if off?

Harness is fairly simple actually...I just showed everything in detail in case people wanted to make one the right way with out chopping up they're OEM headlight harness.....
two wires?? let me know how it holds up for ya!

So I wasn't really digging the chrome shrouds too much, so I painted them black. I also went with the double sided tape, and they are holding great!

You should have painted the outside of the lenses too, would give the whole headlight a darker look to it. Also, painting an eyebrow on it will make a difference in the over all look of the car...ala kouki.

You mean painting them so they'll look like it's jdm zenki counter part? I've been thinking of doing that. I don't like the idea of putting eye brows on a zenki so that it'll look like a kouki. Now, eye brows to make it look "sleepy" sounds better to me.

Bringing this back from the dead.... haha. My headlights decided it would be cool to literally, fall apart last night on the way home from work.
When I originally ordered my TSX projectors, they came zip tied together. The glass projector was zip tied to the bowl. So I left it like that. I figured 4 little bolts/nuts in the holes on the corners would just rattle apart (My cars on coils lol). But it seems the zip ties became brittle from the heat and just cracked. For the others in this thread that have done this retro, what'd you use to hold the projector to the bowl with? I'll get some pics up as soon as I can. But I'm swamped with school right now. Probably gonna be a couple days till I get them baked and taken apart again

Heres one side:

The shrouds came off the projectors as well. Guess 3M isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

The zip ties are all sitting in the bottom of the lenses lol. Never saw this coming..

And of course, it's always something... the lower tab on the drivers side broke and came out. Awesome.

I never posted pictures of mine before they went on the car, so here ya go:

Your retro came out pretty good but yeah would have used hardware to secure the projector bowl and the shroud. I used small numbers 6 machine screws and lock washer/nuts to secure my projector bowl and shroud to the bottom of the reflector housing then just used some adhesive to constrain the shroud around the projector lens. I liked how you kept the entire projector bowl inside the housing, but to set my projector as far back as possible I had to modify the back portion and just fill the gap in with black expanding foam. Hope you get it secured and back up and running.

I have some pics of how I mounted everything if you're interested.

If you use the 3M sealer stuff like we've said in here, it won't matter. It will fill in ALL the gaps.

I have (had) circuit sports lenses. They fit fine.

As far as the projectors staying in place, all I did was cut the reflector housing as small as possible. TSX projector housings have this square piece, cut that shape to the stock reflector as tight as possible so itll be snug when you put the projectors into it. Then all I did was add a washer into the screw on the back of the TSX housing, that's holding the clip for the bulb. It worked out just fine...I'll try to take pictures of what I'm talking about when I get the chance.

Also, try to reuse all the metal tab/clips that hold the OEM lenses to the headlights. All you have to do is dremmel up small cuts for the clips to bite on to the clear lenses. I had extra ones so I'm using atleast 6 per headlights. Heck, I even got some of those clips on my corner lights. Been running my setup for over 4 yrs now, never had any issues. I will eventually reseal it with the 3M window stuff since all I used was RTV.
