been 2 years since ive driven it but if i remember correctly in the city (on 100*F days) it stays around low 80's *C, highway was probably around mid 90's*CThey are wired as pushers using a DIF PWM controller, there is a schematic I posted in the thread somwhere.Nope never had any over heating issues thus far.

Sileighty_85

I'm in the process of debating if I'm going to purchase my 1995/1996 USDM 240sx the previous owner did a RB25 swap but he took the motor out to swap into a S15 so if all goes well I'll be the new owner of the S14 by this weekend your thread has been SUPER informative on the swap and I'm most likely going to use it as a guideline for my parts list thanks again for the inspiration :-D

Picked up a Power FC for the RB25 for like $200! So looks like I wont be needing this Z32 ECU now

Cant wait to get that thing tuned!

Getting a PFC is the best thing you could do for this engine, the factory ECU's are garbage. Had my PFC in for almost 2 years and it's still going fine.

So easy to set up too, just reset the map back to factory before getting it tuned. Only took my tuner 2 hours in total from driving in to driving out (including tie down/untie time).

yeah they are, I had an R33 back when I was in Okinawa and noticed a huge difference on one of my friends R33's with one on it.yeah I have a one on my S13 been playing with it for about 5-6 years, as well as one for my R32. I absolutely love the Boost controller kits for it.

That xspower manifold...I had one on my rb20 and installed it while the engine was out...that exact manifold. It covers up one of the screws to the valve cover and that's the only way to get it off if it's in the car. I literally had to break my valve cover to get the damn thing off. I'll never buy anymore of that trash.

yeah in the idle setting, there are RPM adjustments for the A/C idle on and off.Gotta make sure the idle up solenoid is working as well, its the purple plug on the IACV

Finally go this one running today. Alt is pretty weak but with a good battery seems to be just enough to keep her going. I have a rebuilt alt but its back in Japan....

interior was pretty rough for sitting for 2 years so have to rip out majority of the interior to clean everyhting.

little sad, the wing I bought I was unable to ship due to size

cant get my idle up to work with ac. I changed out the idle up silonoide on the iacv no luck. The idle is set to 1100 with AC on in the power fc and 900 without ac. I have the WS harness, q45 TB, greddy mani. do I need to change out the iacv unit or can I getaway with just the silionode? idle always seem to drop when ever it sees a load (idles fine with no load). When fans kick on or headlights turn on it drops 100rpm but when ac kicks on it drops 400 rpm. not sure what settings in the PFC controls loads. power steering does not rise idle when full lock eighter. any suggestion ?

Have you done the idle learn procedure? When you first install the PFC and initialize it the first time it runs it supposedly does a 30 minute idle learn. Its something like turn on the car and let it idle with normal load for 10 minutes, then turn on your lights and heater fan for 10 minutes, and lastly turn on the A/C for 10 minutes.

This is just from memory, I would Google power fc idle learn.

All I can say is wow. You were way ahead of the times when you did this and kudos on the skills and details. I been running my rb25 zenki for a bit and I wanna make some changes. First place I want to start is the cluster. The idea you had for being able to use both s14 and r33 clusters is something I want to replicate (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery). Can you shed some light on making it work? How does the s13 harness wiring match up with the s14 harness? Parts needed, etc

Thanks, really wish I had a garage Things might have been better/different.

Doesnt bother me at all.

ahhh man that was like 3 years. Might be difficult to explain.

All you need is 2 sets of S13 cluster connectors, a good soldering Iron setup, Heat shrink, E-Tape, and a multimeter (Optional) and a whole lot of time.

The wires between the S13 plug and S14 harness are irreverent I just using the connector.

I think what I did was first Pin in the stock Clusters connector. Cut one wire at a time and pinned that wire to the appropriate pin. ( I think I de-pinned my connector and tried to match the colors to the OE wire as much as possible)

Pin location doesnt matter as long as the connector pins line up. but only for the stock clusters pin out.

Once I had the stock cluster pinned I traced the wires and tracks on both the clusters and marked the function of the wires then mirrored the stock gauge cluster connectors pin out on the R33 connector.

Hope this makes sense.

So basically cut 2 s13 harnesses from the chassis side to get the male and female. Wire the female to the s14 chassis side. Use the s14 and r33 pig tails to wire to the male side

one more question. my s14 cluster tach doesn't work properly because obviously 4 cylinder tach reading a 6 cylinder. i want to get the dakota box which fixes the error. BUT how would that affect the r33 cluster when it gets plugged in

Not sure if Zenki's have this but on my Kouki, I had a potentiometer on the back that I could adjust to the RB signal.

But if you wire in a DD all you do it "unwire" it back to stock when you wanna swap in the R33 cluster

I just read every post from page one, truly an inspiration! Good job, man!

I have a '97 s14 and I've always wanted to swap an RB into it.

Unrelated to RB's/cars:

I've also been extremely interested in living in Japan for at least a couple years, I was wondering if you might have any suggestions on where to get started in the whole process. I'm currently a sophomore in college, so I still have a few years before moving there could happen.
