S14 from RB25 Zenki to RB26 R33 Front End Build
The car started out as a bone stock, automatic 95 Zenki. Bought it last February of 2010.
I previously owned a black 95 Zenki, but totalled it, but kept the RB25 from it. So the build began. Since I had a running stock, reliable car, I decided to take my time and fix any problems I had had with the previous swap. Got a Mishimoto Aluminum radiator, completely rewired my harness, and regasketed the motor. Here are some pics the day I got the car. I had had some Zenki replica valences from my old car, so I put those on and refinished the stock wheels. Then I was a dipshit, and understeered into a guard rail cruising with some buddies in the mountains. Shortly thereafter I got a quick replacement stock fender, and swapped the RB25 in. Some shots with my buddies Nismo 350Z. Exaust is a full custom tig welded 4" from the turbo back, with a magnaflow muffler. Sounds sick as FACK. Traction was becoming as issue after I turned the boost up to 10psi, so a set of 245 MT Drag Radials came into picture. Then the first time out at the track I ran consisten 14.1, here in Colorado at 5800ft, with a horribly slipping stock clutch. Soon after I got a set of coils. Then at the track one day i completely fragged the stock clutch and opted for a ACT 6 puck. Buh bye stock. Hello ACT Went out to the track again, after putting in a welded diff aswell, and ran 13.5 on slicks with just dumpin the clutch from redline, not the best way to do things, but it worked out for the time being. Friends got electrical tape happy on my car 1.7 60' squattage VIDEO: YouTube - Nissan 240sx Bandimere [email protected] To clean things up a lil i tidies things in the engine bay up, and painted the valve covers. Also lowered the car a little more and evened the coils out on all four corners. Then I got some MB Weapons. 18x9, +15 offset, 235/40 Federal 595 tires all around. Some random shots of the car at work. Finally went to have the car dynoed. Made 277 ft lbs at 4000rpm and 271 hp at 6750 RPM. 10psi, SAFC tune via wideband, and a small boost leak VIDEO: Then to my luck, yes, I said luck, was at a friends house, and his dad backed into me with his patrol car, yes, a cop backed into my car. Got a good chunk of change from the county and decided to get R33 headlights, and the R33 Duraflex kit and Kouki wing. After this I opted for a pull type electrical fan, so to fit it, I notched my radiator support, and moved the radiator far enough forward, so that my autozone 16" fan could fit between my crank and radiator. This actually significantly dropped temps. Then tax return time came around. And my time with the RB25 had come to an end. I was bored with it, and wanted more power in a stock form. So I ripped it out and started redoing my engine bay and bought an RB26DETT. Fully seam welded the chassis and put in sheet metal for extra support. And decided to rhino line the engine bay. The spray on type, not the brush on type.

Soon after the RB26 came. Got it from JapanStar in Albany, NY. Highly recommended. The company sent me pics and a compression test video before I even bought the motor. Only issue was a cut wiring harness, but a week later I had a new one from them free of charge on my door step.
Since I had the RB25 Mckinney kit, it would not mount up the RB26 properly. So with the help of a friend, we modified the mounts, and made them so that they would work with the RB26. We actually got it to mount slightly lower, further back as we were able to still use the stock sway bar, and we just slightly had to modify the tranny mount. At this point I opted for solid metal mounts. No bushings whatsoever. Since I was low on cash, we decided to use the stock RB26 downpipe set up, we just had to slightly modify it to get it around the steering shaft. I also decided to use the RB26 oil pan, just chopped off the diff and had the holes tigged shut. Also using my RB25 trans, and ACT clutch. Just one question, Im using the RB26 power steering pump, and I got the rear port for the HICAS blocked, do I need to gut it as to not frag the internals? With this harness, like my RB25, I did the full harness conversion myself. It was a bit more difficult since the 26 was a R32 motor, so I had to do a little more then repinning the dash plug. Motor set didnt come with the resistor box either, so I wired inline 6 10ohm, 10watt rresistors. If anyone has any different solutions to this let me know. Its just what I found online. I havent been able to start the car yet, just waiting on a few more parts and intercooler set up wich will be here in about a week. Current pics: Will have more updates in the weeks to come.

The RB25 wasnt running AC and neither is the RB26.
The headlights werent direct bolt in. Had to make custom mounts for them and shave the fenders a lil, but other then that fitment is good.

wow that front fittiment looks like shit!! and why is the hood elevated like that in the back??
iam not sure why you gave up the 25 for the 26 when the performance is super similiar?? maybe because i have a 25 neo(also with a awd oil pan). is why i feel this way. iam also guessing your oil pan is sweating some oil in your weld spots as welding alum is a tricky business...
