Are Sideshows/Take Overs going to become the next Drifting?

So once long ago illegal street racing from one stop light to another would lead to the rise of 1/4 Mile competition drag racing.

Bootlegging across country roads became dirt track racing and was the foundation of modern NASCAR.

Drifting down mountain passes in a tiny country to small for a single strip of straight road to properly drag race would lead to professional drifting.

So are Sideshows eventually going to give us some form.of DeathRace 2000?

Considering everyone getting hit appears to be a bowl of jelly, doesn't surprise me you sold out of 2XL - 4XL.

There is nothing "drifting" about sideshows.
Those people have no idea how to drift a single turn so they just do donuts and burnouts.
Literally an 8 year old could do better.

i wont knock the morons behind the wheel. they may be making some terrible life choices, but some of them have skills.

if i was a criminal and needed a good getaway driver, i wouldnt hesitate to hire one of these knuckle-heads.

I was randomly looking into a huge motorsport festival in the UAE the other day and they have a "freestyle drifting" competition and it made me think, that's pretty much what a sideshow is. Same with those Austrailian burnout contests and middle eastern high-speed camry drifting. Lump it all together and I think freestyle drifting is a rational name. No real technique, skill, or goal other than making smoke and noise, abusing the shit out of the car, being obnoxious, and killing tires (and maybe bystanders). So, no, I don't think it'll become the new drifting. It's like scooter kids at a skatepark - sure, they're doing tricks, but everyone knows they're a joke compared to skateboard/bmxers (time attack/drifters).

Do they set fire to cars, shoot people, or drag people out of their cars and beat the shit out of them in the UAE or Australia?

Come on, man... you're from NorCal, you should know better. This shit is straight up hood

My point is that it's all goofy, not that they have the same culture.

I don't think it will lead to anything but the end of our ability to enjoy certain aspects of our automotive hobbies (legally organized events, etc.). Takeovers are spreading all over the world, even here in our tiny country of the Netherlands the first "takeover" style meeting was in the news the other day. And even here, only attended by absolute retards who only seem to care about pissing off as many people as possible. Retards non-car people will now think I am associated with whenever I try to explain what I love so much about cars and drifting. It's depressing honestly, feels like the nail in the coffin.

Don't get me wrong, me and my friends still enjoy street drifting every now and then because we do not have access to tracks anymore but we always try to be respectful to our surroundings.

Hate takeovers with a passion. Unfortunately, it's going to take a good amount of people getting hurt for this kind of shit to die down.

It's all part of the plan.
