Headlight shortcircuit s14

So my buddys got a 95 s14 and the driver side headlight doesn't work. and it keeps popping its fuse so I checked the fuse and it 12v going to it at all times, even without the key in but the passenger sides fuse is only live when the headlights are on.

so I came the conclusion its a short to ground before the switch and its a red wire

main question is anyone know any likely places for this wire to short out? (it runs from the fuse block through the core support and around the strut tower where it goes into the cabin. )

I guessed it would be found where the harness runs through the wheel well (common for lowered cars to rub through here) but my friend swear that's not the problem because he repaired that in the near past.

anyone know where it could be shorting out at? im guessing its gonna be by something that moves and rubbed the wire. lmk know what you guys think

I'm betting you will have to recheck the wiring in the wheel well, because that's most likely the place it's gunna be making contact with constant 12v . If your friend can't figure out his headlight issue, and fixed his own wiring, chances are there's something making contact under there...

Either way you have to retrace the wire to see where it's making contact. So get out that test light and poke away

No test lights here, we use voltmeters
But yeah im thinking the samething (hard to rule out a wiring job you didn't do)
I wanted to run a 20a fused bypass wire to the headlight switch and just call it a day

Yea just put a band aid on a bullet hole. Just let the next owner worry about it

Make sure you remove the light bulb when you are ohming out the circuit.
