Spark plug ceramic cracked and piece fell down cylinder
I had a problem with a compression tester adapter that got stuck. So i accidently tightened a spark plug into the adapter causing it to crush and a piece of ceramic from the tip where the electrode is, fell through the adapter and into the cylinder. Just wondering if a little piece of ceramic would do anything if it fell into a cylinder. Could it possibly damage anything? Id assume no because its a relatively small fragment.

how would taking off your valve cover get you access to the cylinder, you would have to take the head off for that, rotate the engine so the piston is at tdc then vac that shit out

Ceramic is very sharp. If i were you, which i'm glad i'm not right now, I would pull off the whole head and get in there and remove every dang piece of ceramic in there. because you WILL do major damage to your internall engine parts. play it safe, take that whole thing apart. this way you fix it right the first time, and you won't have to buy a new motor... or you can mickey mouse it, and get mickey mouse results |

^^^ Haha, WILL do MAJOR damage!!!!11!1one!!!
Depending on how big it is, it could find it's way to the cylinder wall. By all means, try to vacuum or spray it out with compressed air. Most likely it'll find it's way out on the first exhaust stroke, but why take the chance?

Did the whole vacuum thing and it worked great! it sucked out a bigger piece and some little ones and spent some time sucking around the piston so nonetheless i think its all out now. Thank you for the idea, i wouldn't have thought about it. I used a clear silicone hose instead and worked phenomenal cause i could see all the pieces being sucked out of the cylinder.

i would take the extra precaution and take the head off. (not that its that easy to do for us nissan guys with timing chains lol but it could score the cyl as ho1ywars above said... and once that happens not too pretty.

I think all the pieces are gone and do not want to take the head off its just too much work and time for me to do it. From what i saw there 3 pieces two small ceramics and one large chunk that cracked and i sucked them out so im pretty sure im good to go.
