1996 240sx SE 5spd *LOW MILES*

I have an excellent condition 1996 Nissan 240sx SE 5-Speed for sale with about 48k original miles. This thing is mint, well maintained, and the interior is in awesome shape for a 22 year old car. I have completely babied this car, never raced or drifted, and in fact have never even driven it above 3500 rpms. Unfortunately, there's a dent in the rear driver side quarter panel from a tire blowout on the freeway about a year ago and I never got around to getting it fixed. The good thing though is that it's on the bottom of the panel and isn't easily noticeable. There is also a little sun damage on the rear bumper and a small spot on the passenger side fender. Here's the small list of mods I have done (I wanted to keep her as stock as possible):

-Feal 441 Fully Adjustable Coilovers ($1300 new and only have about 5,000 miles on them)
-Circuit Sports Rear Upper Control Arms
-Circuit Sports Rear Toe Rods
-P2M Clear Headlight Covers
-P2M Crystal Clear Corner Lights
-DDM Tuning Ultra HID 6000k 35w Headlights
-Kenwood DDX774BH Headunit
-Alpine R-S65C Speakers (Front)
-Alpine SPR-60 Speakers (Rear)
-Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 205/55R16 Tires (Only about 1,000 miles on them)

*Note: I will include the original Coilovers, RUCA, Toe Rods, Headlight Covers, and Corner Lights. I am also removing the amp and subwoofer you see in the pictures upon selling the car.

$8200. Do not contact me unless you are a motivated buyer.

That type of mileage certainly demands a premium, if you're in the market for a zenki.

This car got me banned from bring a trailer, actually.

This is one of the cleanest s14s I’ve ever owned. You can find more detailed pics from when I listed it awhile back.

Long story. In a nutshell, BaT refused to let me list it without significantly lowering my desired reserve (a common tactic). If I wanted to list it with them, the reserve had to be $8k, or I could take the $10.5k offer I had on the table. Perceiving the value of the car to be higher given it was nearly showroom condition, I took the risk. The reserve wasn’t met, but BaT told me after the fact, having already made arrangements with an outside buyer, that they would exercise their “make whole” clause where they pay me the difference in order to force the reserve on me. It’s a tactic they use so they can keep their successful sales figure at 80%: they pay for it.

But they didn’t reach out to me, they told the top bidder and he came to me insisting I complete the transaction. It was incredibly confusing and to make matters worse, Bring a Trailer doesn’t even have a phone number to call for clarification. My only method of communication with them was through the comments section of the auction for the world to see, until they inevitably saw the carnage of confusion and finally emailed me directly.

After I had reluctantly agreed, the winning bidder made too many eccentric demands including requiring me to file as a sole proprietor with the IRS in order for him to import it into Canada. It was all bizarre and he eventually backed out.

Basically Bring a Trailer is a buyer’s forum; cars rarely meet reserve organically, and BaT demands the reserve to be sufficiently lower than market value just to list there. If you read reviews of BaT experiences through forums, google or yelp, it’s the same thing on repeat. Then BaT blocks users so they can’t report their negative experiences in the comments of their site. It’s pretty brilliant and an awesome advantage for everyone but the seller. There was a silver tt z32 that sold there with similar experiences and the comments show it.
