s13 My Cluster Got Attitude... 93 w/ HUD

Hi all,

It is common that our dash light stops working after we install an aftermarket stereo system. That seems to be my case too, but not exactly.

On regular basis, the lights on climate control, glove component, ashtray, hazard light, cruise control, and defogger work. But the HUD and dash light don't besides those warning indicators. Also the cruise control and odometer do not work on regular basis.

However, when the car is literally heated up, which I mean the car has been stayed under the sun for couple hours, the dash light will work as well as the cruise control and odometer. But the HUD speedo still doesn't work.

I'm guessing it is the capacitor in the HUD unit causing it not working. But I have no idea on the dash light, odometer, and cruise control. Perhaps poor contact?

I've replaced the TCU twice and still no luck.

Any idea? Anything would help. Thanks all!

according to an article on nicoclub, Fix for 240sx instrument panel / dash lights - NICO Club, it seems to be common.

When I had my Accord and was an idiot and forgot to tape up a wire after a head unit install, I blew a fuse/all my dash lights...

So, my advice is check fuses... Could be something simple... Maybe it is a capacitor though, I have a problem where my car's odo will quit when it gets hot. Mine's an S14 tho.
