SR sr20det ecu smoking help help

well i was driving home from work , like a 10 min drive. got home for 5 min went back out side to start my car and it did not want to start, the car seem like it so wanted to , the engine was turning and every thing, but it just did not want to turn over, then i look to my passanger sided to see, that my euc was smoking, well i open up my ecu and saw something burned out, well i got a new ecu , but it a power fc and i dont want to but it in , cause i dont want to rick burning that up to, so if yall could help me find out what happen and see if its the ecu that went bad or its the wiring in the car. also it a red top if that helps any. well thanks in advance

Im not very good with electric stuff, but I had a similar problem with my KA, where something shorted and my ECU was smoking. It ended up being a shorted out fuel injector, which fucked up my ECU and the whole car. So, take it to someone who can diagnose electric problems to be safe.

Maybe you should trace which pin it leads to and use the tech section to work out what the pin does, then maybe the more electricaly gifted people here would have an easier time helping you it figure out what went wrong.

its the 4th pin on the top, any one know where i can get and red top ecu layout and a fsu in english? i know they did not have it back in the days but mabu now

That is so similar to what happened to one of my ecu's...
My case was a shorted MAF signal wire.

damn man... you shoulda just called me if you want the FSM... you know i have it on my puter...

anyways.. yeah its the IGN (ON) pin..... he has the greddy turbo timer hooked up to it with the harness that came with it........ also.. when you wire up a sr20 to the 240.. do you touch any wires that deal with a IGN (ON) ? hmmm dunno how it coulda short out.... i know very little..... so any help from you electronic guys would help... thanks for any replys....
