s13 How do i connect my cig lighter

Okay so i need help making my cig lighter work i've never done any wiring on a car so is it hard and what do i use as a power source for it because i looks fairly simple but i dont wanna f*** anything up.

Just know which wires are ground and which are positive. I hooked my cig lighter straight to my battery.

you ran it straight to your battery but isint that not a 12volt source or is it because i wanna use my ipod in my car and i dont need my fm transmitter burning

yes your battery is a 12v source. if you do that make sure you fuse your positive lead tho. when connecting the cig lighter, make sure that the positive goes on the end of the housing and the ground goes on the side of the housing

just put a fuseable link in the positive wire and call it a day or you can just tap in to a 12v source already in the car. Maybe the radio?
