GT2860r TURBO UPGRADES FOR RB26DETT. WHATS NEEDED?

Hi you all,

So I have purchased a pair of new gt2860r turbos for my RB26. Currently I have the stock turbos. I know people mention these upgrades as a direct bolton but I also know thats not exactly true or is a different level of "bolt on". Can anyone help me out on what is needed in addition to the turbos and gaskets they come with. I am going to assume some of the lines may need to either be re-made or maybe there is a kit out? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Dom

Dom,

if you buy the correct Garrett GT2860's they are literally bolt on. just buy new gaskets and install them. no custom anything needed.

What do you mean by the correct ones? Are there some that are not plumbed the same? And have you personally installed a pair and had a direct bolton experience? I have read both that it is bolt on and that it is not bolton (completely). Thanks for your response by the way!

Can anyone confirm if thats going to be a direct bolton. I just want to make sure I have everything ready for a quick swap out and less downtime as I may not have access to my buddy's lift for as long as it may take for other parts to come in. Thank you all for your help!

if they have the stock metal coolant/oil feed lines it may be worth getting some new braided ones.

Thanks! Yes, I am hopefully going to try to source a kit of some sort of stainless braided feed lines however I am having a hard time finding any. Worse case, I may just have them custom made.
