Long time no see with real updates! Well, hopefully they are going to start dropping in more recently than now! Dad sent me a pic today of a package that arrived home today and this might make some think "what the f*ck again" feeling, but hopefully in a positive way!

So my bearing faulty 1JZ-GTE with single turbo exhaust manifold arrived to the garage. We'll see about the single turbo thing since I have something nice at the garage I would love to use! I also washed her so it is nice to start working on a clean car. Had to take a "teaser" photo to FB and IG too..

This..., will be awesome!

Is anyone in here using BMW ZF transmission with S13 chassis? I have heard that the ZF GS6-37DZ is too high to use with stock driveshaft tunnel. Is that correct?

Well well well! Finally I got to do something with the JZ! Disassembling is started for now and I decided to get myself a new attitude towards keeping my tools, parts, bolts and nuts in their places. Thanks to Broadfield for that!

The single turbo exhaust manifold that came with the engine is a big NOPE for me. Shitty quality, leaks everywhere and seems to be a cheap Chinese ones that like to crack and bend.. I also do have a handmade Finnish twin turbo manifold from KKD and I am seriously thinking about making this twin turbo.

I have been here thinking that should I make the engine full black including wrinkle paint or make it just flashy as the whole car is.

Thanks guys!

Today I took timing belt and camshafts out. This is so my luck that previous owner had something done wrong. Exhaust camshaft caps #2 & #4 were wrong way around. Maybe if I have time tomorrow I'll get the head out and see how the pistons look.

Dad took his Supra under construction too! Lets see what dad will do to it this winter!

Just like promised! Head is taken out and since I had good feeling I took oilpan and pistons out. Problem was not on the #4 cylinder like the previous owner said, it was on #3. Doesn't look too bad since I have seen worse ones fixed out! I think that we can make a crankshaft for me out of this one.

Awesome! I had to wait for mine around 3.5months since shipping from Japan to Finland took about a week. Could have token way longer than a week tho!

Night at the garage, again! Well, now the whole engine is taken apart and next up is cleaning, painting and figuring out that will polishing be good enough for the crankshaft or do we have to make it have thicker bearing.

What are you expecting for power? You can get down with like 400, but I always see these kids have like 800+ for no reason. Curious to the motor build.

I would be fine with +400, but if I can get more I don't mind having more!

I see this pic and say, "take that damn serp belt off before someone bumps the engine and the water pump pulley flies off and whacks your front end!!" LOL

Looks like a toy car build, like it's not real haha

Hahahah, I didn't even think about that until now.
And thanks guys!

And maybe I could write an small update here..

I've been waiting for my bearings, arp bolts and cam gears for six weeks now from Real Street Performance. I hope that they will arrive soon so rebuilding could start!

Also I've been looking what turbo / turbos I should run. I already have a twin turbo exhaust manifold that is handmade in here Finland. I don't know should I be unique and go with the twin turbo setup or just go with the basic single turbo setup.

Hola friends! I waited almost three months for parts to come from USA -> Finland. Well, luckily everything was okay and all the parts that I ordered were in the package! PHR cam gears, ARP head studs, ARP rod studs, ACL main and rod bearings.

I need to get the block ASAP to my local machine shop to check everything is okay. After that we can start rebuilding it and take it to paint shop! I've been thinking about doing something like this with these two colors. Excuse my dirty fingers.

This weekend I also managed to test fit the twin turbo exhaust manifold with turbine housings from my Dad's HKS Twin turbo setup. Looks kinda cool!

well, the car's already pretty much a fishing lure, so you might as well throw a laffy taffy engine in it...

Something has been done again! Made almost 600mile trip to pick up Toyota R154, tilton triple plate clutch and Sarling racing release bearing. Good wash, some silver paint and then silver flake/glitter! Looks good in my opinion!

Finally had some good time to spend at the garage and actually made some progress! I installed ACL main bearings, ACL rod bearings, ARP Rod studs and new Toyota OEM oil seals to oil pump and crankshaft. I also painted the oil pump and the bolts that go with it silver so it look all nice and clean, even tho I was being told I am a moran for doing it. Also installed trigger wheel, but didn't took any pics of that..

Thanks guys!! 2JZ would be my dream, but they are getting really really expensive, especially in here Finland, because the market is so small and you usually need to get them from different country. One day maybe!

___

Just a small update while we're here. I washed, cleaned, removed rust and painted water pump and installed it and noticed that this is not going to work.
The pump is going to make painting the block really hard so I am going to remove it, repaint the bolts and try to figure out what color I actually want to paint the engine. I love the 50/50 paint job, but I dunno.... I hate figuring these kind of things out since, I am such a perfectionist.
