2006 Evo 9 SE 891hp trades
Looking to see what I could get for trades for my evo. The car was built by Tobz performance in Colorado and made 891hp 660tq on 46psi on a mustang dyno. The car ran decent when I got it but shortly after a spark plug broke and took out the #3 piston. I rebuilt the motor with a new piston setup from diamond racing over the winter. While tuning the car for the new piston setup it lifted the head and resulted in some serious damage to the head itself, block, and #4 piston. The car still has loads of the best parts and the car is in fantastic shape. This is the second evo I have owned and one of the best condition around. I was quoted 300$ by valley cylinder heads out of California to repair the head and Whalen speed can get the replacement piston from diamond. I can also get a fresh o ring blocked ready to go for a serious buyer or something I’m highly interested in trading.I have a new hg ready to go with the car as well as other gaskets needed to put it back together. Pictures of the car, damage and parts list below.

Why not spent the money and fix it then sell it ? 46psi is why the head lifted

The head likely lifted due to a combination too much timing and because my block wasn’t o ringed. There are plenty of people running 50+psi without any issues. I just don’t have a huge desire to continue working on it and I have some other stuff that is keeping me from putting money into it at the moment. If I don’t find any interest in trades I’ll probabsly fix it over the winter and keep it for next summer, but that’s several months out.

I guess you also don't have a huge desire to get the proper money for it as it isn't running. No one is going to invest big dollar money on a car that is questionable in the reliability category regardless of it's history. Obviously the motor was pushed for it to lift the head.
May be a smart idea to put some time and money into it or prepare for absolutely zero serious offers. Just saying. |

You’re correct, I don’t have a big desire to get more money for it. Obviously I’m going to take a hit on the car trying to trade it for something, which is the exact reason I put it up for trade and not for sale. Not to mention on Zilvia over the tons of other forum options. And I would really hope people don’t think they are getting a reliable car when purchasing or trading for something that doesn’t run. As far as the motor being pushed. Yeah, it’s a two liter making almost 1000 crank hp, you don’t get that by babying it. Thanks for the advice though. I’ll continue to let my inbox flow with trade offers until I find something I really like
