oil light on?????

earlier today i was driving on the 5 south to irvine i was doing about 70 mph and hit a dip on the freeway. Right after the oil light came on and i pulled over right away. i checked the oil pan and there was no leaks so i ran the car with the oil cap on and it was still getting oil pressure. so my question is could it just be a bad oil press. sensor? or am i gonna run ionto some serious problems? theres no knocking or unusual noises coming from under the hood. thanks for all info!

first of all i'd check for corrosion at the connector for the sensor/sending unit. next i'd get a mechanical oil pressure gauge and check for pressure.

Did you dent the oil pan when you hit that dip? Like the othes said install a mechanical oil pressure gauge and check.
