400hp kouki or 400hp s2000

need some insight. ive got the kouki which is stock and my s2k which is stock. im trying to figure out which car i want to make the most power out of. i use 400 and a generic number not set on anything hp wise but i would like at least that much. ive never been in a s2000 with that much power...come to think of it ive never been in a 240 with that much power. so i dont really know what to base the fun factor off of. i know this is a nissan bias community but if anyone has any experience id love to hear your opinion.

In the s14 an SR, RB, LS, JZ? what turbo? it's a pretty open ended thing. For me it would be a single turbo pt6262 NA-T 2jz in an s14. F20/22c motors just don't have the kind of powerband I like even when turboed. They can put down some pretty crazy numbers though.

i try to factor parts availability and budget so i would go with an sr. yea its kindof open ended hard to really narrow it down with a bunch of specs and such. you can bolt on 400+ hp on a s2k with a ptuning turbo kit or a science of speed supercharger for about 6-7k which would be the price of a done very well sr swap.

Sr2000s are sooo awesome! !! I would do SR swap in the kouki, then save up for an RB or 1j then drop the SR into the s2000.

Depends on what kind of driving you want to do.

I have an ap1 and 2 s13's. I'd go with the ap1.

I helped build a 550whp stock block ap1. Ragged it out. It was a monster. Low boost was 360whp and we were beating 500whp e9x m3's

I'm with Farzam...what kind of driving are you planning on doing with the car? Pretty much, if you're into drifting or has any remote inclination to do it...can't do it with an S2K. If you like grip driving, auto-x or drag, I'd lean towards the S2K. S14 is capable of doing all of it, just not as good as an S2K when it it comes to grip.

S2k can produce lots of power on stock block, 600-700hp easily.

If i was going to boost mine tomorrow i would go with a pfab log manifold and a small gt3071r, V-mount IC.
I have an ap2 so the f22 has a little more displacement than the f20 and it rev to 8k instead of 9k so im pretty sure the power band of the log manifold and the small gt30r would be pretty good for drifting, if you wanna put crazy number and have a useless power band ,go with an equal length manifold and a gt35r.

The f20/f22 are great engine to boost, tranny is not a problem the main concern is the diff, i dunno if you want 400 flywheel hp or 400whp cause, the stock diff wont last long if you drift a 400whp s2000 and upgrading the diff on an s2000 is not cheap either puddymod or z32 upgrade, we talking over 2gs !!!

Thats why i would personally go log mani/gt30r @ 8-10lbs easy on the engine, would still make around 320whp and the diff should last longer, you just buy a spare diff on ebay or craigslist for 300-400$

but no need to boost your s2k to drift perfect example, lsd and good clutch f20c can do that

^^ hes rubbing so bad on the fender, watch the front left mirror tweak 4 inches lol.

anyways.
if the s14 isnt even swapped yet, its pretty much a no brainer to boost the s2k.

Its Actually hard to drift an S2000. LSD and clutch will kick it out but you wont be able to hold it. I remember when Alex drove the RSR S2000 they had to modified the Steering rack to an RX7. S2000 has this thing called an EPS (Electric Power Steering) At higher mph when you throw the steering wheel the system actually slows the wheel down.

really cool and sucks donkey penis.

s2000 is also a super twitchy car and hates being sideways. you have to put in some GOOD time and effort to make it drifty

I'm on the same boat with OP

I'm leaning more towards a s2 just because it can be a cleaner safer car. Aka abs and air bags

Idk about you but with 400whp I'd like to stop fast and not smash another windshield with my face

If you plan on going sideways go with the 240 because the s2000 rear end wont handle it. If your just going to run straight lines and gripping the corners, s2000 would have no problem.

No sense your making. Bad drivers cause accidents not fast cars.

I say keep s2000 stock and turbo the s14 for drift and autocross.

Kouki with 400hp is more practical and would WOMP on the 400hp s2k all day long, S2k is small as fuck, No room for anything other than you and a passanger, Barley any trunk room and they have an annoying exhaust note and no torque.

I'd say go for the kouki!! you can actually have room in the car, trunk space, back seats even though there isn't much room but its still there! It's SAFER than the S2000 in every aspect and you'll hate the no bottom end at all on the s2000 esp on a big turbo s2000

well for one you have a roof.. you have airbags if you choose to keep them. all traction control does is make you understeer. A good vigilant, smart, and safe driver make the car safe, not all your fancy honda electronic junk. For example, people always tell me I'm gonna get killed in my car, trucks are wayyy safer, but to be honest I'd rather drive a car I can avoid an accident in rather than drive a car I can survive an accident in.
