I've got an SR20DET and I just put on a stock location mounted doc race exhaust manifold. The oil passage that runs from just behind the manifold up to the valve cover is extremely close to the manifold. I'm worried that a rubber hose even with heat tape may be too hot being that close to the manifold, it'll literally be pressed against it. Does anyone else run this manifold and how did you deal with this situation?

Use a longer piece of hose so that there's some slack and Fire Sleeve to insulate it from the heat. Make sure to use power steering hose as it's oil-resistant. Plain heater hose will deteriorate from the oil vapors.

Heat up the block where the tube is pressed in and you can rotate in back to get more clearance

look up oil blowby threads, plenty of ideas on rerouting the lines and the best way to go about it on those threads, heating up the block works really well, you could also remove the fitting, cut and tap or use compression fittings and run different lines, that port doesn't really maintain pressure or vacuum so pretty much anything that seals past 10 psi will hold just fine

on mine i couldnt gain enough clearance just heating the block up and rotating the tube, so i heated up the tube and carefully bent that back as well. i gained enough clearance to route a 5/8" line up under the brake lines

interesting. I hope I can get in there without having to remove the turbo. Just got everything all nicey nice!

i did it with the turbo and manifold out... i cant imagine doing it with the turbo/manifold/outlet bolted up. best of luck!

I have a lift so I can see it much better from the underside. Wish I could get it out entirely, modify it ace put it back in

Just in case someone else finds this thread in the future. I was able to slide a pipe on it and bend it away without taking everything off and everything is good and clear now.
