WTB: 300ZX TT Driver side Axle and Q45 Drive side Axle "Magic Axles"!
Hello I am trying to put a Q45 3.54 ratio differential into my S14 chassis.
I heard I can use the Q45 diff cover, just drill the input flange, and use these two magic axles (Driver / Driver for 300zx / Q45) to complete the swap. Any other recommendations, or suggestions also wanted- I need a 3.5~ ISH ratio in my 240sx thanks |

3.54 ratio is gonna too long unless your making 1000hp plus
I went with 3.69 and on my 6 speed KA should be around 900hp And those axles can hold 1000hp + The teeth on the ring & pinion are going to before those do 400hp-700hp is go with 3.92 off a 96+ Q45 just take the output shafts & slip on some 90-96 that are 6x1 |

Its for a LS/4l80e so I need a lower cruising RPM for maximum economy than a 4 or 6 cylinder would.
I realize I might be giving up some acceleration, I never ran the numbers because Im afraid to find out how much with 3.69 gears I only barely squeezed 24-26mpg from it. I should be around 28mpg with the 3.5x, maybe even 29, if I get the same ratio boost as going from 4.1 to 3.7 gave me. (almost 6 mpg) Of course the goal is 30+ so I have some lightening to do, some better wheels and better tires, a good alignment, synthetic fluids, lean cruise, additional insulation, I have alot of untapped tricks still in the bag, car is only halfway done. |

Nice, then yeah 3.55 would be good for you !
I had a 99 LS1 and I would get about 29mpg in 6 gear and that car was heavier I don’t know what gears it had in the back |

What year q45 had the 3.54? I have a q45 diff out of a 96 i believe it was, with the 6 stub 6 bolt axles, the 300zx tt driver and q45 driver side axles more specifically. I'm just curious cuz I thought I read somewhere that it had somewhere closer to a 3.8 or 3.9, I don't even remember.
Anyway where I'm going is, I may be able to pull a diff for you but no way I'll be able to get you the 300zx tt axle. Check the driveshaft shop for a custom half shaft, get that, and take the q45 pass side to a machine shop and have them take off the cv's and swap them onto that shaft. That's what I had to do. This if I'm not mistaken. I don't remember which side it went on though so double check. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |

96 came with 5 bolt axles which has the 3.92 gear set if yours has the 6x1 then you have 3.54 gear set |

The actual z32 axle may hold more than 550hp, but good luck finding one.
The driveshaft shop makes more products than that you could swap on. Just giving suggestions, not sure what you're looking to do. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |
