Does anyone have any advice for changing the t/c rod bushings? What should I do, torch the old silicone out then press in the new one?
C'mon that whole new unit is like another $100... Help |

Use a press to press the old bushing out. You can torch it if you want, or use the press to tear it out. Once you have it torn up a bit, you can use a hacksaw to GENTLY WITHOUT CUTTING THE ARM, cut a slot int he outer sleeve of the old bushing. This will relieve the pressure and allow it to come out easier.

Ok, so it seems that getting the old ones out is the biggest pain, why does PDM make such a stink about finding a shop who will press them in? Like it's so difficult that no-one will take it on?
The old one can't just be cut out huh? I guess it's not all just rubber and silly-cone. |

It can be hard to get them aligned right when you press them. It kept wanting to pop out to the side right before it was about to go in. It finally went in with a lot of lubrication and persistence.
